Hello IMBB Ladies!
I miss you girls! It’s been 5 months since I last wrote here. As I’ve mentioned in my past reviews, my family has migrated to Canada and this whole process of starting anew is never easy but it’s really exciting and I feel like I am never running out of energy. I’ve been here for almost 6 months and all those times, we’ve been completing what we need in our household because we started with a bare house, exploring Canada and the way of living here. I juggle 3 part time jobs and my duties as a hands-on mom during the day. Now, I am finally getting the hang of it and so I decided to go back doing what I love… writing. Thank you IMBB for still accepting me.
Today, let me share with you my review on the face scrub I’ve been using for 2 months already, the Olay Regenerist Detoxifying Pore Scrub.

My Take on Olay Regenerist Detoxifying Pore Scrub:
When I felt that my skin was starting to dry up and with all the build-up on my pores, I decided to get something from Olay, particularly from their Regenerist line thinking it is made especially for maturing skin and that it may be less drying. I am 31 and sub-zero winter here is extremely drying to the skin. So I got this Olay Regenerist Detoxifying Pore Scrub. It is packaged in a black squeeze tube which I like as it is user friendly. It has 192 ml of product in it which is a lot. I got mine for $13 from Walmart.
The product itself is clear in color with reddish pink scrub bits suspended all throughout. Its consistency is just right that it is not runny and it is very easy to spread unto face and easy to rinse off too. The scrub bits are as tiny as granulated sugar, but not as rough. I don’t think it is abrasive at all so I thought it is something I can use on a daily basis. Plus I think the scrub bits are a bit sparse too. It has become more of a face cleanser to me than as a face scrub. If they add 25 to 50% more bits in it, I believe it would work for me better. It has this Olay signature scent which I like.
I’ve been using this for 2 months now. I noticed that after every wash, it makes my face instantly brighter. It feels soft and smooth to touch too. It doesn’t give that stretchy or stingy feel so I can say it is gentle on my skin. On the first 2 weeks, since I find it gentle on skin, I’ve used using it on a daily basis, as my facial cleanser but it seems to make my face drier. I’ve been seeing more and more dry patches so I decided to just use it twice a week. Now, I noticed that my face isn’t as dry as when I used this on the first 2 weeks but it still on the dry side. I partly blame the weather for it. This Olay Face Scrub actually does not lather and in my observation, cleansers that do not lather are less drying.AlsoI noticed that my skin is clearer as well. Some dark spots have cleared but there’s few left. I didn’t get any irritations or breakouts while using this product which is great. I love that my pores on my nose are less visible now.
What I Like About Olay Regenerist Detoxifying Face Scrub:
-Nice squeeze tube packaging. It has lots of product in it
-Does not irritate skin
-Scrub bits are gentle on the skin
-Clears and minimizes my pores after several uses.
-Skin gets a bit clearer and brighter with continued use.
What I Don’t Like About Olay Regenerist Detoxifying Face Scrub:
-Olay Regenerist line is a bit on the pricey side.
-Can be drying if used everyday.
-It takes time or several uses to clear up pores.
-Scrubs are kind of inefficient in unplugging clogged pores when I first used it.
While Olay Regenerist Detoxifying Face Scrub was able to make improvement on my skin, I still find myself going back to my baking soda + baby wash DIY face scrub which is much cheaper and yields better result.
