Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Oil Free Perfecting Creme Review

Hi beautiful Imbbians :))

Hope all of you are doing good and enjoying life! We are also enjoying (please read scared of :P) our daughter’s new hobbies and interests. Recently, she discovered her love for painting and since then, we are running behind her pulling out napkins and mops to clean our floor, furniture and almost everything 😛 However, it is still better than her paper and grocery love.  Last week, she was interested in ripping off papers and playing vegetable vendor game, hence we used to run behind her lifting that dirt devil noisy cleaner from one room to another and then the other, apart from picking onions, potatoes from every nook and corner of furniture and home! I just wonder why these onions and potatoes follow me everywhere, even in washrooms! The issue is that neither her teachers nor her doctor takes us seriously, they would simply smile and reply “wow, it’s good for her sensory and fine motor skills.” Don’t know about Aadya’s sensory, fine motor skills, but our sensory skills are definitely at stake 😛 Thank God nowadays, its cold for her, so she is sleeping peacefully while I am cleaning her face and hands, she won’t allow me to touch her face otherwise. By the way, I am also here to share my next Ole henriksen purchase with you all. Winters always bless me with combination skin, which is less oily with improved skin texture, hence it is the best time for me to experiment with skin care regime. Recently, I picked this Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation along with other OH stuff.  It claims to work AM/PM, hence I picked it up out of my curiosity to see how it works on my skin. So, let’s get started with OH Sheer transformation to see if it is worth trying for oily acne prone skin gals 🙂

Product Claims:

So sheer in texture, this luxurious oil-free cream feels light and silky as it penetrates the skin and helps fade discolorations such as freckles, age spots and sun damage without the use of chemicals. Instantly nourishes and retexturizes the skin, smoothes facial lines and provides intense free radical protection to prevent further damage.

Packaging:

This lightweight thick white cream comes in a glass jar packaging inside a sturdy cardboard box. All these blue/green jars are so confusing. It has a very mild fragrance which disappears in a few minutes. Overall, its a sturdy and travel-friendly packaging though slightly unhygienic in my opinion.

My Experience with Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Oil Free Perfecting Creme:

I own OH scrub and night cream and love them, but this sheer transformation cream is not my oh-so-favorite stuff unlike former OH products. I mean after using the scrub and night gel, I was expecting this cream to be one step ahead, but it works like any other drugstore moisturizer meant for oily skin.

I have used a few daytime moisturizers such as Olay SPF 15 day moisturizer, Neutrogena Naturals Multivitamin Cream apart from Caudalie Energizing Fluid and TBS tea tree range, and they all have worked wonders on my skin without hurting my pocket except the Caudalie fluid, which is slightly pricey (but it was a gift from IMBB).  The last skin cream I finished before switching to OH was Neutrogena Multivitamin Moisturizer which was nearly 99% natural and gave me best results with all skin concerns throughout winters/summers.  Comparing OH Sheer Transformation to my former skin cream is really shocking for it is almost three times the price of Neutrogena and still it is nowhere close to that cream in terms of results on my skin.

I do not hate this thick, lightweight white cream for it did help me in getting soft skin with matte finish for a good 4-5 hours. It is a lightweight cream which immediately sinks into the skin and gives oil free, soft skin for good hours, but I used to get the same results from all other drugstore creams, then why should I increase my budget, isn’t it? It does not irritate acne prone skin and does not accentuate skin issues, but then every genuine cream does it, right? I have been using it in conjunction with OH night gel, hence it gives fair results like smoothing dry and scaly skin apart from keeping my face moisturized for a few hours, but again it is not something unique.

I use it alone in the morning and I just felt it hydrated my skin while keeping oil at bay, but my face did not have any glow or luminous finish unlike earlier days when I used other drugstore stuff.  Moreover, I was expecting to see drastic results from this pricey stuff as it claims to fade away spots and smooth out fine lines, but I could not see any difference other than soft skin (thankfully, I do not have ageing spots other than a few acne scars). For me, it seems like any other average winter care cream which hydrates skin and I wonder if it works well for dry skin as it is not very effective on my dry patches on cheeks which often develop due to over scrubbing or chilly winds outside.  I think I should move back to Neutrogena Naturals Moisturizer for firstly it comes in a tube packaging and it gives me oil-free, soft and glowing skin, that too at one third of the price of OH Sheer Transformation.  I would not recommend you to try it because it is an overpriced ordinary cold cream.

Let’s sum up the pros and cons:

Pros of Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Oil Free Perfecting Creme:

  • A lightweight thick cream infused with the goodness of vitamin C and other fruit acids.
  • It works well on almost every skin type including acne-prone and dry skin.
  • It does not leave any oily cast on my oily skin.
  • Immediately sinks into the skin and gives soft and smooth skin.
  • Keeps my face oil free for a good 4-5 hours.
  • It never irritated my acne prone skin nor accentuated any skin issues.
  • Works well when used over OH night invigorating gel.
  • Can be used both AM/PM for smooth and soft skin.
  • It has a mild fragrance which is hardly noticeable.
  • The product is free of phthalates, sulfates and parabens.

Cons of Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Oil Free Perfecting Creme:

  • An unhygienic tub packaging in my opinion.
  • It is not 100% natural product.
  • It seems to work like any other ordinary drugstore brand cold cream meant for oily skin.
  • It does not give any luminous or glowing effect on the skin other than keeping it oil free and soft.
  • It is sometimes ineffective on dry patches of my cheeks which often develops due to excessive scrubbing or cold winds.
  • It does nothing for my post-acne scars or other freckles which often develop due to excessive cold weather.
  • I feel I used to get slightly better results from other drugstore brands like Neutrogena multivitamin moisturizer, Olay spf 15 day moisturizer which are available at nearly one third of OH’s Sheer Transformation Perfecting Creme.

I honestly feel when I can get luminous, glowing and soft skin from Neutrogena skin care range which is almost 99% natural and free from pthalates, sulphates, dyes, etc., that too at nearly half or one third of its price, then why should I splurge on OH or other high-end brands unless they give some unique or dramatic results, isn’t it? I truly feel price has nothing to do with authenticity or credibility of any product.  St. Ives is one such example which justifies that sometimes cheap products work wonders than other pricey products. I won’t recommend it to you; however, the choice is yours.  I can only give you a fair idea that it is just an overpriced cold cream, nothing more! Moreover, I will share a few more such examples in future as I am totally into budget-friendly brands these days and must tell you all of them are super duper hits! So stay beautiful and happy till then 🙂 I could not stop myself from sharing our lilttle mischievous kiddo’s pic, she is always up to some thing, especially when I am busy with my work 😛

I think your review is quite accurate as the ingredients list indicates that the percentage of the good stuff is very low, and it’s unlikely to show dramatic results.
