Hola Bonitas,

My Experience with OPI Nail Lacquer – Suzi Skis the Pyrenees:

Off late, I discovered my love for black nail paints and outfits and since then, I am hoarding them like anything irrespective of the hot weather outside. This nail lacquer seems bluish black grey with creamy and glossy finish on nails. It looks greyish black to me during the day while many times, it seems blue black! This shade instantly brightens skin texture and complements any outfit, probably the best possible reason of having it in my stash. I am a messy mum and that’s why I always look for stuff like this which can be paired with any look or outfit and can last on my nails – Suzi Skis the Pyrenees fulfills the criteria and I love it.

The texture of the nail lacquer seems slightly runny yet saucy, needs at least 2-3 coats for buildable finish on the nails. In one swipe, I notice streaky patterns and hence for my nails, I need two coatings to get a thick opaque coverage and one more swipe for a clean finishing touch. It does have shimmer which is barely visible but often glows in sunlight and gives amazing glossy touch to my nails.

Even my nails appear longer than usual whenever I wear this shade 😛 Now, the most crucial feature, i.e., staying power, thankfully this particular shade lasted 4-5 days on my nails without chipping.  However, I noticed slight chipping on the 5th/6th day which is fine for me unless it is visible to others. I should also blame my fragile nails which often tend to break after a certain length. Overall, I am quite impressed with this color and I would recommend it to every messy mum and gal who often looks for long-lasting nail lacquers which matches any look or outfit!

Let’s sum up the pros and cons:

Pros of OPI Nail Lacquer – Suzi Skis the Pyrenees:

  • A formaldehyde, DBP, toluene free nail lacquer.
  • A blue/black grey mixed nail lacquer which gives vibrant glossy finishing on nails with subtle shimmer that’s barely visible.
  • It instantly brightens skin texture and can be paired with any look or outfit.
  • An all year round shade.
  • Nails appear longer than usual while wearing this shade, a good alternative for short nails.
  • Stays on for a week without chipping.
  • Even if it chips after a week, it’s barely visible to others and looks fine.
  • Gives a streak free, clean and complete opaque finishing in two coats.
  • Classy packaging.

Cons of OPI Nail Lacquer – Suzi Skis the Pyrenees:

  • I see formaldehyde resin in ingredients list; however, research says that once resin is manufactured from formaldehyde, it is chemically changed and the product is safe on skin and we should not bother about resin unless we are allergic.
  • It certainly stays longer than other OPI nail lacquers (in my stash), but still it’s a tall claim that it would last two weeks.

OPI Nail Lacquer Suzi Skis the Pyrenees

Anyway, the bottom line is that I love it despite it’s minor cons and it looks hot yet cool toned in both summer/winters. I also love it because it makes my nail appear longer than usual, which totally adds glam and “wow” factor to my appearance.  I will definitely get it again if I ever finish it off and considering my love for this shade, I think I may finish it off asap! Gals, do give it a try, it’s really awesome!
