I feel guilty as a lip balm hoarder. I have already bought so many lip balms this month, and now they all look the same to me. Still, I love all of them. Today I am reviewing a lip balm by OraLabs ChapIce. I have never tried this brand before. Let’s get into the review of ChapIce very berry lip balm.
INR 190 for 4.25g
My Experience with OraLabs Chap Ice Very Berry Crazy Flavors Lip Balm:
It comes in a very classy packaging. The lip balm comes in a small red and white colored twist-up tube with a very tiny cap. The packaging looks cute and travel-friendly. The scroll up system works nicely and the description is nicely printed on the stick itself. I have the “Very Berry” variant. It contains SPF30 which is really great for the Indian summer days. I really like lip balms that offer SPF.
It comes in various flavors; I have the Very Berry one. Very berry is totally a berry flavor, as the name suggests. It has a strong smell of berries. The smell is really nice and feels good. It also stays on for a decent amount time. It might be a berry flavor but it does not carry any color; it looks white even in the bullet. It is totally a colorless lip balm which looks so natural on the lips. But, it can’t hide pigmented lips. So, if you are a person who loves tinted lip balms, this one is definitely not for you.
The consistency of the lip balm is not so creamy. Hence, a lot of pressure has to be applied while using it for the first time. When I had swiped this for the first time, it felt a little dry and the application was not smooth at all. But, after a few uses, it turned a little creamy. Still, it does not feel as creamy as other lip balms. It feels a bit waxy on my lips and it doesn’t impart any gloss or shine. It just leaves a sheer tint and feels so light on the lips.
It makes my lips soft and smooth. It is not super moisturizing for super dry and cracked lips, but it works well for normal lips during summers. It actually repairs your lips. But, since I have dry lips, I need a more moisturizing lip balm at night. It is good enough for days, though. As it doesn’t have any color and shine, you can use it under your matte lipsticks.
The effect stays on for a decent amount of time on the lips. It stays on for around 3 hours nicely and then my lips require reapplication. It can’t survive a meal, but my lips still feel hydrated. As it has quite a waxy texture, I can call it waterproof to some extent. Overall I like this lip balm; it works pretty well on my lips. But it is not very effective on extremely dry lips. I don’t feel it will work well during the winters either. But this is a great option for daytime when we require a nice lip balm with high SPF.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend OraLabs Chap Ice Very Berry Crazy Flavors Lip Balm?
I like this lip balm for the day time and would like to try more variants. It is a good lip balm for it contains a high SPF. But, it is not meant for very dry lips.
