The Ordinary Matrixyl HA ingredients

My Experience with The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA:

The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA comes packaged in a transparent, frosted glass dropper bottle with a white cap and a white cardboard outer box containing all the details about the product. The packaging is similar to all other Ordinary products except the bottle is not dark. The dropper is really good and dispenses the serum easily. Overall, the packaging is simple, basic and lightweight. The serum is not travel friendly since the bottle is made out of glass.

The Ordinary Matrixyl

Now let’s talk about Matrixyl. The compound “Matrixyl” is essentially a peptide that targets and stimulates collagen synthesis and repairs damage. This function reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving the skin firmer, smoother and more youthful looking. There are two types of Matrixyl in this serum- Matrixyl 3000 and Matrixyl Synthe’6 at a combined concentration 10%. Matrixyl 3000 reduces skin inflammation and allows more collagen production. It improve texture of the skin and helps to reduce the wrinkles. Matrixyl Synthe’6 regulates cell activity, wound repair and collagen tissue remodelling. The hyaluronic acid imparts more moisture to the skin and makes your skin more supple.

The Ordinary Matrixyl HA

This product has a thin, viscous consistency and it is transparent. There’s no fragrance to the product. I apply this serum to my face and neck in the morning. It spreads easily onto the skin and gets absorbed quickly. It does leave a slight tackiness on the skin. I follow it up with my moisturizer and marula oil. I use this serum daily. I haven’t faced any skin irritation using this serum.

This serum is supposed to be a good anti-ageing serum, but I have not seen any difference in  my wrinkles or fine lines. However, this product has even-ed out my skin and has improved the texture of my skin. My skin doesn’t feel dry or dehydrated. Overall, I am really enjoying using The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA in my skincare routine.

Pros of The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA:

  • Lightweight, anti-ageing serum.
  • Evens out skin and improves skin texture.
  • Reduces skin pigmentation.
  • Does not irritate skin or cause redness.
  • Affordable.

Cons of The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA:

  • No significant improvement on wrinkles or fine lines.
