Oriflame Hair X Styling Extreme Volume Mousse Review

Buying a hair mousse for my frizzy hair was one amongst the countless things I have done to bring some sort of discipline to my hair. I have watched a lot of youtube videos in which they use mousse for styling frizzy hair and to add volume. Since Oriflame had the mousse on its catalogue, I didn’t have to look far. This mousse that I bought was from the HairX range. I am new to styling hair and just getting used to my hair styler, so having a mousse was a must.

KEY INGREDIENTS:

MY TAKE ON ORIFLAME HAIR X STYLING EXTREME VOLUME MOUSSE:

I was completely clueless on how this mousse would work and had to watch a lot of You Tube videos to learn the tricks. Oriflame Hair X styling mousse comes in a long silver colored bottle (do we call it bottle or can) with a purple (??) top. When you press the ridges on the sides of the cap, the mousse comes out in a foam form from it.

The mousse is slightly perfumed and as per instructions I applied it directly to wet hair before styling. Initially, the foam disappears into the hair weighing on the hair, but as I blow dried my hair, I could see that it had given my hair volume and bounce. It did not have a great effect on frizziness, though it looked like it was under better control. To note that is that if I didn’t style my hair with the hair styler and just combed the hair, it did nothing. So, buy this product only if you have a hair dryer or styler.

Also, it does not have any kind of conditioning effect on the hair.

There is a lot of mousse in this long bottle and it would last for a really long time even if you style your hair regularly.

PROS OF ORIFLAME HAIR X STYLING EXTREME VOLUME MOUSSE:

• Mousse adds volume to the hair.
• Makes hair bouncy when used along with a hair styler.
• Haven’t seen any side effects, meaning I didn’t get any headache with this product sitting in my hair….usually, I get headaches with hair oils and serum that’s used on my scalp.
• Price is pretty good for the quantity.

CONS OF ORIFLAME HAIR X STYLING EXTREME VOLUME MOUSSE:

• Is impotent if not used along with a hair styler or hair dryer.
• I am not sure with all those chemical ingredients, how hair will become in the long run, there are a whole lot of chemicals listed on the back.
• Does not have a major effect on frizzy hair.
• Does not give any conditioning effect.

IMBB STAR RATING: 3/2 …..-2 for so many chemicals.

WILL I PURCHASE IT AGAIN: I will surely get a mousse but not sure if it will be this one.

  2. I had bought the Lakme Volume spray, fragrance was very good, and it did give superb volume to my hair, but yes no conditioning effect :))

    1. I think mousses are for volume only na Tapaswini….I am quite happy with this one….Lakme volume spray is available now kya….I should give it a try

  4. hair not very good cali….I took the best shot amongst a lot of pics that i had clicked 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐

  5. talking about frizz control – i`ve been using the Loreal liss ultime reflexum for quite some time now,it gives a lustrous shine to the hair but sadly takes away the volume from my already pin straight hair, i am too on the lookout for the perfect styling product for my hair ,to keep it mess free all day long, also the fact that i am into curls right now doesnt help much 😛 the lakme hairnext range has been discontinued soon after it launched though ,I have tried out their hair softening serum which wasnt that great as loreal (obviously considering the price factor) ,but wasnt a bad deal for 195 bucks ,but too much silicon is better used for lubricating treadmills than making ur otherwise healthy hair shine 🙂 great post O:)

  6. btw guys what opinions do u have on an ionising hairdrier? any of u ever used it before? i`ve heard it gives the perfect shine and shape to ur hair without causing any real damage if used occasionally ?:)

    1. arja, i bought the philips shine ion hair dryer around 4 yrs back , its one of the best purchases i have made.
i have naturally straight hair with good shine though, but everytime i style it, i like it even more :silly:

my problem is now my hair is limp, post pregnancy issues u know. so i have been hunting for a volumizing mousse.
i have been trying to hunt down tigi bedhead spray, but unable to get, where can i get Schwarzkopf Taft Ultra Mousse?

try the loreal wala thing its reallie nice, and honestly Jomole, oriflame is just not good for hair care, and

ore karyam pareitte, initially njanoom catalog kandu othriukke vayukkuvayerennu, pashe vere brands innode compare cheyda oriflame atreka gunnum ole alla is what i feel…
deshya padardein, ennde korein kash poyeete onde….

    and nice review again

  11. ur hair is so black and lovely Jomol 🙂 i only tried one shampoo from Oriflame and didn’t suit my hair….. so never experimented again 🙂

  12. I would recommend Schwarzkopf Taft Ultra Mousse, i got it for around 300 -400 rs . And it lasts really long. You do not need any styling equipment for this mousse. I have curly hair and apply it on damp hair and I am good to go. My husband has straight hair, he applies and combs and his hair and keeps his hair in place as well as keeps them looking glossy

  13. supriya i was wondering if the Schwarzkopf Taft Ultra Mousse was a volumizing mousse, i was specifically looking for something to get rid of my limp hair
    O:)

  14. yes it is , at least in my experience, when i had no time to see my hair stylist, and my ends were growing all wonky and thin , i used to use this mousse on damp hair and tie my hair into a bun. when after 10 minutes or so when i left my hair , it did look more voluminous. the mousse also protects from heat styling etc. since i do not use my hair dryer too often i cannot tell if it really protects. but i would totally recommend it for volumising.

  15. oh by the way, if you have to finish the oriflame wala mousse, and do not want frizzy hair with mousse then just add a lil bit of conditioner to the mousse.
