Oriflame Milk Honey Gold Moisturising Shower Cream Review

Oriflame Milk & Honey Gold Moisturising Shower cream

I have heard so much about this Milk & Honey range from Oriflame that I decided to get this shower cream & here is my take on that.

Oriflame Milk Honey Gold Moisturising Shower cream

History of Milk & Honey for Bath during ancient times:
Cleopatra recognized the beauty secrets of honey way back and pampered her skin with her famous milk and honey baths. Thus, she was able to achieve perfectly flawless skin that was highly desired by the opposite sex. This has prompted several women of today to prepare their own honey milk bath. In addition to the beauty enhancement benefits of a honey milk bath, it also has a sensual aspect to it that makes it ideal for lovers. 😉

Queen Elizabeth I of England pampered her skin with the same milk & honey baths.

~ Cleopatra’s Milk Bath Formula ~
Add 4 cups of fresh milk, buttermilk (can be exchanged for dry milk formula, but not recommended) to the bathwater as the tub is filling. Add 4-6 table spoons of honey to the bathwater and stir thorough.
Soak it the tub for as long as it feels pleasant. Carefully massage your skin with a washcloth or loofa to help the ex-foliation process. Rinse your body thoroughly after soaking and make sure you clean the tub.

What does Oriflame Claim about this cream: Your shower becomes an oasis of luxury as you cleanse and condition your skin with this sumptuous shower cream. Luxurious shower cream with moisturisers & organic milk & honey extracts to gently cleanse & leave your skin soft, without feeling dry.

Oriflame Milk Honey Gold Moisturising Shower cream

Price: Rs.349 for 200 ml
My Experience: The first thing that caught my eye was the packaging. This shower cream comes in a big cream colored tube which has a print of honeycombs & has a golden color flip cap, looks lovely. The texture of the cream is neither too thick nor too runny; it looks like Sunsilk golden colored shampoo (I don’t remember the exact name). The fragrance of the shower cream is too over-powering; it has this superficial jasmine flower fragrance which might be annoying for some people. Just 3 to 4 peas-sized amount on a shower puff would be enough to produce a good foamy lather. After bath I felt the skin was very dry & didn’t find it supple or soft.

Pros of Oriflame Milk Honey Gold Moisturising Shower Cream

  • Comes in a decent cream colored tube with a golden flip cap.
  • Doesn’t leave soapy film, rinses out easily.
  • Little goes a long way. This tube will last for at least 2 months or may be more.
  • Lathers well.

Cons of the Oriflame Milk Honey Gold Moisturising Shower Cream

  • I wish this would have come in a see through package, so that I get to know the amount of shower cream left before I run out of it one fine morning.
  • Has strong superficial fragrance of jasmine flowers.
  • Leaves the skin dry though it gives a squeaky clean feel. Not suitable for dry skin.
  • Doesn’t deliver what it claims, doesn’t condition or moisturise my skin.
  • The tube is not travel friendly.
  • Expensive at the regular price.

Will I repurchase this? No, it doesn’t suit my dry skin.

Will I recommend this? I will not recommend this to people with dry skin; other can give it a try when it’s on discount. Definitely not a must have product for me!

  16. Hi Uzma,
Thanks for the review …I was fascinated with this after seeing it in catalogue..n ordered as well 😥 😥 😥 ..
    @Pooja: where r u ???? :zombiekiller: :zombiekiller: :zombiekiller:
U didn’t tell me that it not for dry skin…. :hunterwali: :hunterwali:
Now u have to compensate by giving me more discount… :yahoo: :yahoo:

      1. oh no..jab we met was class apart..this one had nothing in no- no humopur-no drama-nothing…

only two things- tanu was looking pretty and manu was looking cute. Period.

            1.

      2. I ordered an eyeshadow palette from Amazon..and was happydancing about it.. But just got a mail from the seller, that they did a mistake about the product. It was a foundation from wet and wild and not eyeshadow!! :weep: ,….Have asked me to cancel the order!! :(( :((

            1. i know yaaa , bloddy that one run that got deducted last moment wud have made such a difference , monkey that fellow is .. :spank: :spank:
my weekend was sooper lazyyy :yahoo:

  17. errr wrong place to ask but … i dunno but m too confused .. i have three months in hand before i join college , so am thinking of doing something fruitful .. kya karoooonnn … yahan toh kuch hai bhi naiii.. please mujhe koi idea de do !! :weep: :weep: :weep:

      1. not sure yaaa.. i wana drop a year , but considering m already late on the academic calendar parents are advising against it .. i just messed up totally :((

        1. do you have language classes there…pick up a language. It will not only add a lot of weight-age to your cv but would help you during and after b school as well. And dropping one full year and just preparing would only add a black spot to your cv…

            1. wohi toh problem haii … i don wana join aiwain sa school for the sake of it .. ghar pe they are like beta jo bhi hai join kar lo .. i so wanted to learn mandarin , yahan toh sala kuch bhi nahiin hai .. its a sad city in these terms..

              1. then you do something you like… all kinds of ECs add value. It just depends on how passionate you are about whatever you are doing… You need to find it out Naina…

  18. I dont know how that sounds to you but you can really start your own ” how to organize things” kinda classes at your home..I feel you are too good at it… You can just ask people around you to attend… I think it would be a good beginning and if I talk from b school perspective it would be your own little entrepreneurial thingy…

    1. u know i thot about it , spoke to a couple of people but nobodys interested .. i may sound very cribby and all , but trust me yahaan ke logon ka mentality abhi khula nhain hai.. they are like we know how to do stuff.. we cant pay you for that , when i hadnt even asked for payment and if u do it free ,its like it has no value ..

        1. yeaaa… i zeroed in on that only .. i donno if i ll do it but am planning to start amking accesories at home… like three four at a time and see how poeple respond , it just struck me now .. 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
ratiiii , u r a sweetheart .. not being formal but i know am cranky when it comes to all of this , thankooo for being so patient 😀 😀 :-*

  19. Nice review Uzma! By the name and contents ‘Honey’ and ‘milk’ I assumed it would suit dry skinned people perfectly. I’ve tried Palmolive body wash- milk honey one and it smells heavenly!

  20. My client who has a combination skin has placed an order for the milk and honey sugar scrub. Uzma, do u think it might leave her skin dry? I am in Bangalore and the climate is shifting to colder side now. After reading your review, I really feel like taking a tip from you. ?:)
