Oriflame Very Me Eye Envy Eye Shadow Review, Swatches

Oriflame Very Me Eye Envy Eye Shadow Review and Swatches

Hello girls, today I am going to review another Oriflame product. It’s the eyeshadow from their new Oriflame Very Me collection.

Oriflame Very Me Eye Envy Eye Shadow

What Oriflame has to say about these?

Lustrous Eye Envy Eye shadow duos in all shades of who you are.

Price: INR 229/- *offer price for March INR 125/- each.
Weight: 1.9 g.

Ingredients: I tried searching but I could not find it anywhere. 🙁
Shades availabe:

  • Pretty Green
  • Green Fusion
  • Downtown Grey
  • Cocoa Glaze
  • Iced Purple
  • Lady Lilac
  • Blue Edge

Shade I will review:

Pretty Green, Green Fusion, Cocoa Glaze, Iced Purple and Blue Edge.

I am going to review 5 shades from this collection. I loved the colors. But the color pay off is not very satisfactory. I think it will be good for beginners. It’s definitely not for special occasion or professional use. The pigmentation is very bad. It will not show without a primer. So primer becomes a must. Lasting power is also satisfactory…just couple of hours. Some are shimmery while some give satin finish. But few shades I found to be very chalky and powdery :(. Not to my liking.

Here are the shades with the swatches. Top are swatch without primer and below with primer.

1. Blue Edge- Shimmery Denim Blue and Shimmery black eyeshadow duo

Oriflame Very Me Eye Envy Eye Shadow

Swatch: left-without flash, right-with flash

In the picture: left is without primer, right is with Painterly paint pot as base (same for all following pictures)

I don’t like the obvious shimmer. It has fall outs too 🙁

2. Cocoa Glaze – Pretty satiny smooth nude and chocolate brown color

Swatch: left-without flash, right-with flash

I really like the satin finish of this duo. The pigmentation is satisfactory. Very good for everyday look.

3. Green Fusion- Light parrot green and Grass green color. Powdery finish.

Swatch: left-without flash, right-with flash

I don’t like the texture. It’s very chalky and powdery. The colors are not even tempting.

4. Iced Purple- Satiny metallic silver and Deep purple.

Oriflame Very Me Eye Envy Eye Shadow

Swatch: left-without flash, right-with flash

I liked these two colors a lot. Even the finish is nice satiny. I just wish the pigmentation would be better :(.

5. Pretty Green – A light shimmery sea green and peacock turquoise bluish-green.

Swatch: left-without flash, right-with flash

Again I loved both the colors. But the obvious chunky shimmer and then chalky appearance is what I disliked.

Swatch of all shades together: left-without flash, right-with flash

Pros of Oriflame Very Me Eye Envy Eye Shadow

  • Very cheap. (offer price)
  • Pretty combination of colors.
  • Good for beginners.
  • Love the packaging…very trendy.
  • Quantity is good enough for the given price.

Cons of Oriflame Very Me Eye Envy Eye Shadow

  • Not pigmented.
  • Use of primer becomes must.
  • Staying power is unsatisfactory.
  • Some eye shadows have chalky texture.
  • Actual price (229/-) is not a good one to invest in them.

Shades you must buy: None of them according to me are must buy.
Shades which I liked and would recommend: Cocoa Glaze, Iced purple and Pretty Green.
Shades you should completely avoid: Green fusion and Blue edge.
(I did not try Downtown Grey and Lady lilac so I can’t give any opinion on those.)

P.S- It’s just my opinion. Taste might differ individually. :))

Here is what I tried with Cocoa glaze. It’s very simple, everyday look. Hope you like it.

  6. thanks for the review Jinal. I was curious abt these. I have bought so much oriflame stuff of late but didnt pick up this one. I liked the Iced purple the best.

Also folks – is anyone out here on IMBB an oriflame distributor? i was really excited abt getting their bag (498 bucks) from the March 01-16th catalogue but my friend who is an oriflame distributor said it was out of stock..:( loved it..it was a brown checked one..very stylish..perfect for office or for an afternoon out too..pls let me know..i needed 2 pieces..

    1. hmmm….yeah thats nice one!
But I just checked…its out of stock in Mumbai too,….or else I wud hv courieres to u :((
      sowwieeee :((

  7. the review is just wht i thught of these on seeing the catalog, jinal :waytogo: :waytogo: …not my type 😐 😐 .. even i have 88 e/s pallete so no e/s for me now..

    1. hehe….yeah you better make good use of 88 palette….me also want so whenever I heard of people having 88 palette me go :green: :green:
      :))

  8. Jinal, asking you to try something— see if you can do it. 🙂 Keep your eyeshadow lifted upward on the outer corner of your eye than keeping it rounded.. I am not sure who this would work but i think it should look fab with eye shape such as yours. 🙂

    1. Rati…..lifted as in kind of winged out towards eyebrow and then bring it into the crease to give round shape….did I get it correct??? ?:) ?:)
My eye shape is weird….big and bulgy like Deepika Padukone I think :(( Don’t know whom to compare… :((

      1. yes Jinal, a little winged upward towards the eyebrow.. like your eyes are rounded towards the end no. If you give them a little upllfted looks with eyeshadows, they’d look nicer as compared to if you keep the shape rounded towards the outer corner. (I am just guessing) . Your eyes are just fine. :-*

        1. ok me got it…..I will try today only…..as it is I am planning to take pics for contest!!
          :haanji:
So me gonna try this tip today :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:
          Love ya :-*

          1. Jinal you are right, your eyes are like Deepika’s .. Check out here pics here.. infact stare at them here http://wallpapers.oneindia.in/v/album07-Bollywood-Actresses-Wallpapers/deepika-padukone/deepika-padukone106.jpg.html

There is barely anything done on her lower lashline in almost all her pics – there is just a brown shadow , may be folie or soft brown that’s it and most of the work is done on her upper lid and none of them is rounded at the outer corner. Also on the outer lower lashline, there is a dark brown eyeshadow in most cases.

me so happy , you have deepika’s eyes :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

            1. thankoooooo :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:
I think she hardly has any kajal or liner on her lower lashline hai na….and I love her lashes…may be fake but so pretty :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho:
me gonna try this today :yahoo: :yahoo:

              1. you see other piccys, she has thin kajal . liner on her waterline but barely anything on lower lash line only dark shadow on outer lower corner to contour the eye shape. Yiippyy!! Try!! :))

                1. yeah me seeing all pics now. Only little kajal. Nothing much on lower lashline. Kept ir simple. And little winged e/s. me likes! me gonna try. thanx so much :-*

    1. yeah me also fell for the packaging…. :((
      but disappointing
only cocoa shades are decently pigmented….rest are a miss!

  9. (I did not try Downtown Grey and Lady lilac so I can’t give any opinion on those.)
HAW! SIN!!! 😛 but you got allll??? hehe I liked green fusion and pretty green!:P:P

  10. Jinal you looking sooo pretty :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance:

And you bought all the eye shadows or what :yelo: :yelo: :yelo: :yelo: :yelo:

  11. i really liked the pretty green… i might tsill take despite the bad pigmentation IF they give good results wit a primer atleast…. so, how does it fare wit a primer beneath jinal?

    1. Yeah its very pretty shade…. :))
Well u see in the swatches….the pigmentation with M.A.C paint pot as primer. I feel pigmentation is decent with primer bot not comparable to high brand ofcourse. For the given price its fair! :))
