Hello all,

Price:
$8 for 0.6floz / 18 ml. I have mini-bottles purchased as a part of a set.

Product Description:
As one of the nail care industry’s renowned color houses, Orly has established a dynamic palette composed of subtle sheers, vivid cremes, dazzling shimmers, smooth glitters and hot neons. Each ORLY shade is free of DBP, formaldehyde and toluene, and features the award-winning Gripper Cap.

My Experience with Orly Nail Lacquer in shades – Lift the Veil, Pink Waterfall and Beach Cruiser:

Packaging: The Orly lacquer comes in circular glass bottles which are pretty handy. It features an award-winning gripper cap. Orly claims that this cap is ergonomically designed so as to give the user a firm hold allowing for smooth and precise application. Honestly, I did not find too much of a difference in application due to this cap. So, it is not really a selling point for me.

Brush Applicator: I found the brush to be okay, nothing special to write about. It picked up fairly good quantity of the polish and the application was easy too.

Drying Power: The nail polish dries pretty fast. Even 2 coats dry out fast and I surely did not have to wait for the nail polish to dry before I could get back to my work.

Staying power:  The staying power is really good and the polish easily stays on my nails for 4-5 days before it starts fading.

Now, for some detailed review of each of the colors:

1. Lift the Veil:

This is a very light baby pink. I think the name is very apt for this color as it truly reminds me of a blushing bride. Absolutely a color to wear on a Christian wedding. It is a little sheer and applies a bit streaky on first coat. However, two coats are enough to smoothen it out and give a nice glossy finish.  It is one of those shades which gives a very nice feminine, well-manicured look to your hands. Truly a winner for me.

2. Pink Waterfall:

This is a bright bubblegum pink. It is a blue-toned crème shade and hence will not flatter all skin tones. Also, I don’t think it is a unique shade and you can easily find dupes for it. The texture is a bit thick but nothing that you cannot even out. This shade is highly pigmented and one coat is enough to get rid of a visible nail line.

3. Beach Cruiser:

Now, this one takes brightness to a whole different level. It is a super bright neon pink quite unlike anything that I own. It dries to a satin matte finish and you need 2 coats to even it out. Personally, this is not my kind of shade. However, those of you who like to flaunt neon nails can surely rock this in summers. It is a shade which will pop on your nails and get you instant attention.

Pros of Orly Nail Lacquer in shades – Lift the Veil, Pink Waterfall and Beach Cruiser:

  • Good staying power (4-5 days).
  • Dries very fast.
  • Nice variety of colors.
  • Good consistency of polish, applies well.

Cons of Orly Nail Lacquer in shades – Lift the Veil, Pink Waterfall and Beach Cruiser:

  • Most shades need 2 coats for an intense color payoff.
  • Pink Waterfall and Beach Cruiser might not suit all skin tones.

IMBB Rating:

4/5
