Outfit of the Day: Big Fat Punjabi Wedding – Sagan

Outfit of the Day:  Big Fat Punjabi Wedding – Sagan

Hi Beauties!

Yes, its a long time that I did not write for the blog, and I really missed you guys!  I was way involved in my office work and of course my brother’s wedding.  (I am indeed left with a hole in my pocket. :O), but then, the fun you do, is priceless.

Outfit of the Day Big Fat Punjabi Wedding Sagan

There were a series of functions lined up and I had to synchronise all my outfits very intelligently.  Let me start with what I wore on the Sagan Ceremony. Here I am with the groom at the Sagan!!

White Saree

So, here is a decode of what I wore. I will follow the wedding one in my next post.

Occasion: Sagan Ceremony.
Venue: Tivoli Gardens.
Outfit Mood: Neat and Comfortable.
Makeup Mood: Stark and Classy. No Flaunting.
Hair Mood: Natural. Always!

Apparel:

Now, I really had a tough time deciding what to buy and where to buy! I didn’t have much time to stroll around. I really got confused. I did try Karol Bagh, Chandani Chowk, GK, and even FashionandYou! But, I finally decided on hitting Kamla Nagar with a little hope, but bang on, I found Bombay Selections and all the variety was my taste. All collections were inspired by Sabyasachee designs, thick borders with either golden or silver work , with neat designs. No stone studded fantasy!

Amongst all flamboyant colors that I saw, this white was a stunner. I was sceptical, it might look like a Bong style, in a Big Fat Punjabi Wedding but then, who cares! It just has to be a statement!  A bonus was a satin petticoat that I got complimentary with this and of course a blouse piece. However, the one that I got was too a white, so I chucked and chose a maroon velvet piece over. I wanted to keep this three fourth a sleeve because, I am slim and I preferred a little healthier look! I got this stitched, with a long and heavy dori at the back ;).

Here is my full view – with my sister.

White and Red Saree

Footwear:

It was a simple buy online, I purchased a year back at Yebhi , at a throw-away-price, indeed! – Satiny Red to Maroon Sandals with silver embellishments.

Makeup : I did on my own.

  • Base : No primer used. Just RevAyur Saffron Beautifying Gel I had reviewed before. It is amazing!
  • Foundation : Revlon One Step Compact Makeup. I like the mousse like consistency.
  • Blush : Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush.
  • Eye Shadow : I bought this range of iDivine Palette from SleekMakeup, London, online! (Its my first international Purchase!) and its really good. Give it a try!
  • Lips : I swear by Max Factor Lipfinity Lip Tint Shade 09. I had bought this earlier, only to find that I had misplaced it when I reached back home. I searched for this again, but could not really find it. Finally, I got this online and I was a big 😀 :D. I will review this soon!
  • Body : I mixed Oriflame’s Peach Me Perfect Skin Glow with my Moisturizer and dabbed all over.!

Hair:

I have light brown hair and to play with these, I wanted to keep natural. I got this done from a salon near buy. I have a round face, so the hairdresser gave it a bouffant, blow dried the hair in curls (and not tonged), took them section by section and pinned them back. Umm, I think these were a total of 33 hair pins 😛 Here is how, the photographer caught a close up!
