Outfit of the day: Blue Dress and Heels For Work

Hi,

I am back with another outfit post 😛 I have been enjoying the cool weather in Bangalore as usual, though it’s a very busy time of the year for us at work.  Its been a while since I wore a dress, so I decided to wear one of them for work.  I love  dresses, they are versatile and can be carried off in so many ways, and for so many occasions, depending on the cut and design of the dress.

Outfit of the Day Blue Dress and Heels For Work

This is a blue checked dress from Van Heusen. It is very comfy and chic, and is perfect for work if you don’t have a very strict dress code. I’d say it’s suitable for those who work for startups or have a less formal job role.

Since it’s very cool and windy outside, I wore a denim jacket with this. I know, denim jackets scream “casual,” but this one doesn’t look like a typical denim jacket, it has a steel gray shade and a very defined silhouette that doesn’t look grungy.

How To Dress For Work

The dress has a belt in the same material that you can either tie at the side or at the back. It has the same lining which is seen in winter coats so that also makes the material feel very comfortable.

Here’s a look at the dress:

I paired the dress with a pair of electric blue and black heels to add a little something to an otherwise simple outfit.

Yes, those are different colours on my toe nails 😛 I got a pedicure recently and I love both coral and purple, so I decided I would get an “alternate pedicure,” I love it! These heels are not too comfortable, but they’re good for adding that extra to an outfit.

Heels

In terms of accessories, I just wore two blue glass bangles – didn’t bother with a necklace this time, and wore my usual watch and ring.

For makeup, I used Maybelline BB cream, Revlon eyeliner in blue, Colossal Kajal for the waterline and Clinique blush. Topped it off with clear gloss over lip balm.

I hope you liked my outfit. Have a great weekend!
