Outfit of the Day: Summer Sweetness
By Mandavi from The Red Notebook
Garden parties are a must in summers; they are the ideal way to enjoy the Great British Summer, which hasn’t disappointed us this year. Garden party is a very informal setting to enjoy great weather, delicious food and good company and it is the ideal occasion to flaunt your floral or pastel shade dresses.
Keep the weather in mind when deciding your outfit and accessorize with hats and summer sandals. Keep the makeup fresh and soft using shades of pink or peach.
Create the look
Soft and pastel shade fabrics work well in summer. They make the look very fresh and feminine. To create a perfect summer garden party look, I have used a mint green dress on our model Jas. The chosen dress has a fabric that flows well, and is decorated with mint coloured lace. This combination of soft fabric and lace creates a very delicate look – the perfect solution for a garden party or even an outdoor wedding/engagement party.
I accessorized the outfit with a vintage, muted silver necklace and matching earrings and used chunky pastel shade bangles to add a modern twist to the look. Finally, I used a muted silver clutch and sandals to complete the look.
Makeup and Hair:
I have kept the makeup fresh and soft for this look. To add a bit of drama, I have used a green eyeliner on the lower eyelid. The lips and cheeks are blush pink. Hair was kept wavy with a middle parting and I used vintage style bobby pins on the side.
You can play and experiment with this look. If it’s a formal event like a wedding party, then go for a delicate silver bracelet rather than chunky bangles.
For not so formal events, you can swap the clutch with a satchel bag. When it gets a little chilly, team up the dress with a cropped jacket.
Do you have an upcoming garden party or an outdoor wedding party to attend? Then, why not try this latest outfit idea.
