Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm Sunscreen Stick
They say – “Wear your smile, like your accessory and you don’t need anything else!” True that! And what makes your smile all the more beautiful are those well moisturized pink lips. The reason why we all lust for lip balms. 😉 😀 :*
Lip balms go a long way when it comes to keeping your lips well moisturized, supple and sun protected. Unfortunately, while you can get thousands of lip balms which claim to be a specialist when it comes to moisturizing your lips, there are very few which protect your lips from harmful sunrays too! Simply put, there are far less lip balms which are packed with good SPF! – A must!, specially during summers. When harmful rays are bombarding your entire body, just keeping your lips moisturized isn’t enough. You need SPF protection! That is one reason, I am, always, on a look out for lip balms which are packed with SPF. Needless to say when Palmer’s launched Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm Sunscreen and promoted it as a lip balm with very high protection sunscreen, I had to buy it! Specially because this lip balm was coming from the Palmer’s. Unfortunately, the lip balm was not easily available in India and I had to order it online.
Price: 4g for AUD 7 (With postage in India) – I ordered mine on ebay.
Actual product price: AUD 4
My take on Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm Sunscreen Stick:
I have, had, this lip balm for almost a year now. And if you would notice in the pictures uploaded – the lip balm expired this very August and honestly, I did not really end up using it all that much! When, I read that Palmer’s Sunscreen Stick is packed with very high protection sunscreen, I could not wait to try it. I have tried Palmer’s Swivel and I like it. Infact, I am almost happy with everything Palmer has ever launched.
This Lip Balm Suncreen Stick from the brand is however, a different story. The lip balm smells like their trademark cocoa butter which actually reminds me of those milky bar days. The lippie is sheen and does a decent job of moisturizing your lips without appearing glossy. On the contrary, you might get that waxy sort of feeling when you apply it. However, this is not the real problem I ended up having with this lip balm – It just did not suit my lips. Everytime, I have applied this lip balm – It has always irritated my lips. There is this weird tingling sensation on lips. I read the ingredients and there is nothing actually that I am allergic to. So, I don’t understand why this happens to me.
Having said this, my sister ordered one for herself as well, and she seems to be doing fine with it! So, maybe, this product is just not for me.
Pros of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm Sunscreen Stick:
• Contains SPF 15
• Contains Vitamin E
• Cocoa Butter Smell
• No glossy look
• Twist stick
• Works well on dry lips too
Cons of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm Sunscreen Stick:
• Again, it was just me. But it did irritate me
• Wax packed – You might actually feel it
• Price – 4 g for Rs. 350 (AUD 7 dollar)
• Not easily available in India – I ordered mine on ebay
I personally feel you can try out others in the same range which also have SPF.
IMBB Rating: 2.5 (Even if I give it benefit of doubt that it did work well on others)
Would I repurchase it? No
Do I recommend it? No, especially if you can get allergic easily.
