Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Cream for Stretch Marks Review

A lot of women feel anxious throughout their pregnancy – one of the causes could be stretch marks.  I am in my 8th month of pregnancy (pregnant for the first time) and I am experiencing worst possible marks all over my belly. They are red marks and it seems like some lion’s scratching marks.  I have been using stretch mark creams to reduce the marks.  I earlier had stretch marks due to my weight issues, so I had started using this massage cream even before I got pregnant, so can tell the difference.

My Experience with Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Cream for Stretch Marks:

Since it’s a cream concentrate, the consistency of the product is very creamy and thick. It has a medicinal smell that is not overpowering and goes away once applied.  The massage cream comes packaged in a tube and since it’s thick, only the required quantity comes out with pressing.  The texture is soft and doesn’t irritate the skin, but doing a patch test is important before using such products.  It feels a little greasy after application, but will not bother you much.

This stretch mark cream can be used on tummy, hips, thighs and bust and can be used to treat weight-related marks too.  I have been using this for some time now.  After applying this cream twice a day, on a daily basis, I felt that the marks that I had due to my weight issues started to disappear, but this cream didn’t work on the stretch marks on my belly.

Due to itching and my scratching, it became worse, but the good point is that when I apply this massage cream, it soothes the skin and the intensity of the mark comes down. It’s a known fact that nothing can make the pregnancy stretch marks vanish, but I will say that regular use of this cream will bring some relief to the stretch marks and the irritation it causes.  If your skin accepts this cream, then use it regularly and do not stop using it after pregnancy, it will surely reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

Cons of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Cream for Stretch Marks:

  • Takes time to show its effect.

Pregnancy stretch marks will be there even if you are using this way before your pregnancy, so continue using it and you will see the result after postpartum. Many of my friends have said their skin elasticity got good with continuous use.

IMBB Rating:

3.5/5

This is a good stretch mark cream and I had used this before pregnancy and saw good results.  Even now, during pregnancy, it reduces the harshness of the marks and moisturizes the skin, and also reduces itchiness of the skin.  So, I would recommend trying it once. But every pregnancy is different and skin is different, so test it out first to see if your skin accepts it.  Along with this, I would also like to suggest you to massage your skin with Gingelly Oil (called nallenai in Tamil) twice a day and this will also give relief from itching and reduce the effect of stretch marks.

  1. congrazz divya.. I wud only like to add my two cents that nvr use ur bare nails to scratch ur belly or skin.. *nababana* sumtimes our stretch masrks r nthin just after effects of our nail scratches, i undersatnd ur situation as I hv gone thru ur same in past n as per my personal reading I wud suggest u to regularly use coconut oil on ur skin, u feel itching on belly due to lack of moisture and obviously wt increase, so start applying regular hydrating oil or cream to ur skin wherever u feel itching and make sure to first use soft cloth on belly n then gently massage the area where u feel itching it will help to prevent future marks and also give u relief frm itching.. *haan ji* keep drinking water it will ensure maximum tensile stregth to ur skin as well as hydration.. *haan ji* n dun worry those tiger strips will fade eventually, i suffered them too but nw thankfully I can say I dnt hv a single stretch mark. so enjoy ur phase n make sure to keep urself hydrated inside out n avoid nail scratching.. *nails*

  2. Hope you have a safe delivery and healthy baby Divya! 🙂 During my first pregnancy the stretch marks only came out in the last few weeks! I had an itchy belly too. I had used a Palmer’s lotion which smelled like chocolate, I should’ve used this one instead. Sounds more moisturizing and soothing.
