I am crazy about pleasant smelling shower gels, and that is what attracted me towards the Palmolive Body Butter “Heavenly Vanilla” creamy body wash. Coming from the dry skin family, I have suffered post-bath loss of moisture followed by a tightness all over my body; believe me, this happens in the interim of bath and application of a good moisturizer! As a biologist, I understand how important natural skin oils are, and what your skin goes through when stripped out of it. The ingredients do matter, irrespective of how much time the product stays in contact with your skin! Let’s see how the product worked for me.

My Experience with Palmolive Body Butter Heavenly Vanilla Moisturising Body Wash:
This body wash has gifted me a healthy moisturized skin. True to the name, this product does smell heavenly. If I have to describe the scent to perfection, I would call it “vanilla latte in a bottle”. With a pleasant non-overpowering vanilla scent, this body wash lathers like crazy. This ensures a little goes a long way. The product also claims long-lasting moisturisation, which stands true to a certain extent. I say this, because this is no “miracle-in-a-bottle” which drenches your skin, but it protects from loss of existing moisture. Application of a moisturizer is still a necessity.
Now, this product does not only amazingly work for dry skin, but for all skin types. People with oily skin, many times are squeamish about using creamy products. But this body wash, though creamy, it is still light on the skin and easily washes off. The scent however is only transient, meaning it lingers on for a little time post-wash. Bearing the consistency of melted butter or ice cream, this wash can be worked upon both with moist hands or a loofah. If you are looking out for some mild exfoliation, a loofah works well.
Further on, this body wash also performs well as a post-shave wash. Now, I am a razor person, only because of the convenience it offers, and I found this body wash to sooth my skin like none other. Again, a moisturizer cannot be skipped. Now, that winters are here, this product has secured its place as my long-term bath partner!
The long ingredient list apart from having vanilla extracts, bears many chemical derivatives of coconut oil, and a ton of preservatives including alcohol. I exempt that at a personal level, as the product does not claim to be organic, natural or vegan and we are well aware of the same at the time of purchase. Apart from the smell, consistency and the after feel, the other brownie point I associate with this yummy product is its price. Affordably priced Rs.190 for a good 250ml, this purse-friendly vanilla concoction definitely wins a thumbs up from my side!
