My Experience with Pantene Pro-V Blowout Extend Dry Shampoo:

I have a really oily scalp with dry hair. I have to wash my hair every alternate day in order to keep it fresh. I do realize that washing my hair so frequently is not good. Also, there are many days when I just do not have the time to wash my hair. This is where dry shampoos come in! They are so convenient and quick to use and give you fresh and non-greasy hair instantly!

The Pantene Pro-V Blowout Extend Dry Shampoo comes in a regular spray can, with a transparent cap. The cap closes tightly enough, but the packaging has some issues. A large number of people have reported faulty nozzle issues with this product – either the nozzle does not work at all, or it breaks or gets clogged, making the product completely unusable.

I did not have these issues, but I might have just been lucky. I spray this on the roots and spread it across the scalp using my fingers and brush my hair. The product claims to contain natural tapioca which absorbs oil. But I do find that it does not do a very good job of making hair non-greasy. I have to use a quite a lot to get a decent non-greasy look. It also does not add as much volume to the hair as I have found with other dry shampoos.

The best part about this dry shampoo is that it does not leave any whitish residue or flakes on the hair or scalp. This shampoo also does not irritate my scalp.

The effect of this dry shampoo does not last very long. After 4 to 5 hours, my hair starts looking and feeling greasy again and I have use the dry shampoo again to refresh my hair. Though I have to use a lot of the product to get a satisfactory result, I do not find any major product buildup on my scalp.

Pros of Pantene Pro-V Blowout Extend Dry Shampoo:

  • Does not leave any whitish residue.
  • Has a fresh scent.
  • Easy to use even when you are in a hurry.
  • Does not irritate the scalp or cause hair fall.
  • Does not result in product buildup on the scalp.
  • Travel-friendly packaging.

Cons of Pantene Pro-V Blowout Extend Dry Shampoo:

  • Have to use quite a lot of product to get a non-greasy look.
  • Does not add much volume to the hair.
  • The effect last only for 4 to 5 hours.

IMBB Rating:

3/5

This is a very average dry shampoo. There are quite a few good ones available in the market today, my favorite being the Dove dry shampoo! You can totally skip this!

  1. I don’t think dry shampoos work that well – you should try Johnson’s baby powder coz it really works padmashree 🙂

  3. I genuinely cannot believe that you haven’t had any nozzle troubles with this product. I have bought bottles at the store, got a few mini travel ones at the dollar store, been given a few bottles because people know my love for dry shampoo and EVERY SINGLE BOTTLE has broken. I get one usage out of these and then they’re completely unusable a few hours later. I can’t unclog the tip and instead the contents return to a liquid-y, non-aerosol form. Absolute trash of a product. I’ve been though 7+ bottles and it happens every time.
