Parachute Advansed Aromatherapy Oil Review

Hi girls!

I have always dreamt of tresses like Rapunzel, but my wavy and limp hair are prone to split ends and just refuse to grow. There is a constant tussle between my hair and myself as I keep on trying DIY recipes, hair masks, oils etc in the hope that one day, I will be able to defeat the constantly adamant non-growing hair. Uugh! In a similar attempt, I got lured into buying the Parachute Advanced Aromatherapy Oil. I agree that it doesn’t claim to repair the hair or promise to make hair grow longer, but how could I not pick up a hair oil endorsed by the lovely Deepika Padukone who has such amazing tresses.

My Experience with Parachute Advansed Aromatherapy Oil:

The oil comes housed in a white plastic bottle. There is a plastic sticker over it which has floral motifs in the shades of blue, purple and pink. Also, Deepika’s autograph is printed over it. The packaging is very soothing to the eyes and the de stressing expectations (as claimed by the product) start increasing by just looking at it. There is a purple flip cap that shuts tight and has the Marico’s logo embossed at the top.

I remember using the Parachute Advansed Coconut Hair Oil as a child and I loved the smell of the pure coconut oil. But, this transparent oil is different! It is a perfumed oil that smells nice, but definitely not of lavender or rosemary. If you are just looking at de stressing you may ask someone to give you a head massage and slowly the aroma would linger all around. Yes, I found it be a lightweight oil which is a treat to the senses.

BUT… it contains mineral oil as the base along with some vegetable oil! The next day when I washed off my hair, I had more hair fall. My tresses and scalp is very sensitive and any chemical can induce/aggravate hair fall. Also, there was no improvement in the texture or frizziness.

Parachute Advansed Aromatherapy Oil Review2

All in all, it is an average product that can be used once in a while if you wish to indulge in a perfumed hair oil massage. The healthy and natural alternative could be the usage of home made concoction containing pure coconut oil as the base and essential oils of your choice.

Summarising the pros and cons:

Pros of Parachute Advansed Aromatherapy Oil:

• Beautiful, colorful packaging.
• Helps to unwind and de-stress solely because it is a perfumed oil and one would like that aroma slowly radiating during the head massage.
• Light weight oil; did not make scalp or hair too greasy.

Cons of Parachute Advansed Aromatherapy Oil:

• Contains mineral oil as the base.
• Induced hair fall, in my case.
• Did not make my hair soft or shiny post head bath.

No, I would neither repurchase nor recommend it to anyone! Please make your own home made concoction by adding the oils which you like the most. Why apply chemicals to unwind or de stress? Switch to natural alternatives!

  1. I too have sensitive scalp and hair and I swear by Parachute’s pure coconut oil, but all of their other oils give me bad headache – hot oil one, jasmine one! I would not like to try this one too.

  2. Hi, Shivani… I was looking out for review of this product.. TY 🙂 I love head massage and they are my only best friend when I suffer from stress. I’ll definitely try this product. 😀

    1. dear sheetal i will advise you to try a mixture of pure coconut oil, almond oil and few drops of any essential oil of ur choice. This oil contains mineral oil ( google about the hazards which this substance possesses) its better to treat the tresses with as much natural things as possible
