As all of you know, its getting extremely cold in north India and as a result, my skin is getting extremely dry and flaky. I went to Easy Day last week and was looking for a good body lotion for daily use. I had already tried Vaseline ones, so I didn’t want to buy those again. Then, I saw Parachute body lotions. It had three variants: Soft Touch for dry skin, Deep Nourish for extremely dry and Summer Fresh body lotion. Since my skin isn’t extremely dry, I opted for Soft Touch body lotion. Moreover, it claimed to contain coconut milk and I am fond of coconut water, coconut chutney and coconut as such, so I was kind of biased towards it. 😛
Aqua, Cocos nucifera oil, glycerin, isopropyl myristate, stearic acid, triethanolamine, coconut milk, glyceryl stearate, hydrogenated vegetable oil, dimethicone, steareth-21, steareth-2, fragrance, methyl paraben, carbomer, propyl paraben, phenoxyethanol, BHT, disodium EDTA.
Rs. 59 for 100 ml.
I think larger packaging is available too.
My Experience with Parachute Advansed Soft Touch Body Lotion For Dry Skin:
It comes is a cute sky blue bottle with a flip flop cap. The packaging isn’t messy at all and is definitely travel friendly. The bottle is shaped in such a way that it is very easy to hold it because the fingers get fit into it easily.
The lotion is white in color and the consistency isn’t runny at all. It is quite thick. The lotion has the fragrance of coconut. I like this fragrance and all those who like coconuts will like it too. The fragrance isn’t very overpowering and didn’t irritate my sensitive nose. It stays on for about an hour, so in case you don’t like coconut fragrances, you should stay away from this lotion.
It gets spread easily on my skin but doesn’t get absorbed instantly or very easily. It needs to be massaged for a minute or two on skin so that it gets absorbed completely and doesn’t feel greasy on the skin. In case it isn’t massaged properly, it leaves an oily residue on the skin. After it gets absorbed properly, it makes the skin soft and supple. My skin feels hydrated for a few hours and I need to reapply it after 4-5 hours on my skin. It gives a healthy glow of hydration to my skin. It doesn’t hydrate my hands well because they are extremely dry and I need to use a proper hand cream for it. It works great for my arms and legs.
On the whole, I would say this lotion works really well for my dry skin, but the only problem is that it needs to be massaged for some time. It will work well for dry skinned people but not for extremely dry skinned people with flaky skin.
Pros of Parachute Advansed Soft Touch Body Lotion For Dry Skin:
- Makes my skin soft and supple.
- Keeps my skin hydrated for 4-5 hours.
- Consistency is appropriate, it isn’t runny.
- I like its coconut fragrance.
- Cute packaging which is very convenient to hold.
Cons of Parachute Advansed Soft Touch Body Lotion For Dry Skin:
- Needs to be massaged for some time so that the oily residue gets absorbed.
- Won’t work for extremely dry skinned people. They should try “Deep Nourish” variant of this body lotion because it claims to work for extremely dry skinned people.
- People who don’t like coconut fragrance should stay away from it.
- Doesn’t work on extremely dry areas like my hands.
