Parachute Advansed Tender Coconut Hair Oil Review

Parachute Advansed Tender Coconut Hair Oil Review

Heyy beautiful people!

Hope life’s treating you great! Well for me even if nothing is great, writing for IMBB makes me feel great.  My product pick for today is the new oil that is added to the Parachute family. It is the “Parachute Advansed Tender Coconut Oil.” I really like oiling my hair as I have noticed the best results by doing so.  The day I saw this ad on TV, I immediately rushed to the general store and got it.

Since parachute is the oldest and the most trusted brand, I had no fears in trying a bottle of this product.

Product Description:

Parachute advance tender coconut hair oil is made from the goodness of fresh green coconut! Rich in multivitamins, it protects hair from dryness, frizz and split ends, and leaves your hair free flowing and full of life!

Wow, reading the product description, I had to get this! I have dry hair ends which are prone to frizz; I felt as if this oil is made for my hair 😀

Ingredients:

Parachute Coconut Hair Oil 2

Reading the ingredient list, I felt a tad bit cheated as I was expecting more of tender coconut oil, but then, I put my research hat on and researched on mineral oil which constitutes 79% in this!

So, here’s my research on mineral oil for hair:

Advantages:

• It is very beneficial for people with dry hair (me! me!)
• It helps control frizz *happy dance*
• It gives your hair a healthy shine
• Helps restore sheen for damaged hair

Disadvantages:
• It is not absorbed by our hair shaft (scalp), making its benefits almost negligible.
• For oily scalp people this may clog pores.
• It stops moisture from getting out or in.

To make it clear, my research says that mineral oil is good for your hair but not that great for scalp. Meaning better to be used as a serum rather than oil massage.

Price:

Rs. 45 for 100 ml.

My Experience with Parachute Advanced Tender Coconut Hair Oil:

Even though I read the disadvantages on mineral oil, I felt happy as I do have dry hair ends that are prone to frizz. So, I decided to give my hair a nice champi and let the oil sit overnight. I did not use any mask like I normally do on a Sunday, just to judge the efficacy of the oil.

On washing it off, it was very easy to remove (as guessed); I must mention that my hair did feel smooth when I was rinsing out my shampoo. After drying, my hair was okay, no drastic change as such. I wouldn’t say it controlled my frizz or my hair ends felt more moisturized.

I have used this as a serum also, as I wanted to see if it works, it worked fairly well, but even a drop more can make your hair look greasy especially in summers, but I like it more as a serum rather than massaging.

Parachute Coconut Hair Oil 4

It comes in a transparent bottle with a light blue flip top cap. Nothing too fancy about the packaging but a decent pack. The flip top lid is quite sturdy, so a small bottle will be easy to carry.

The oil has a very silicone-y feel to it, it is quite slippery and non-sticky.  In fact due to its non-sticky nature, I ended up using much more for my waist length hair.  This 100 ml shall last me for about 5-6 uses. I read perfume in the ingredient list, but I’m not very happy with the smell, it does smell very fresh aquatic, but I expected a mild coconut smell.

Parachute Coconut Hair Oil 5

Pros of Parachute Advansed Tender Coconut Hair Oil:

  • It works decently as a serum to control frizz.
  • Reasonably priced.
  • Easily available.

Cons of Parachute Advansed Tender Coconut Hair Oil:

  • Has only about 3-5% of tender coconut oil.
  • 79% is mineral oil whose benefits are debatable.
  • Has artificial perfume which was not required I feel.
  • Not that great for massaging or overnight champi.
  • Does not smell of coconut at all.
  • Did not do much to my hair.

IMBB Rating:

2.5/5

Do I Recommend/Will I Repurchase Parachute Advanced Tender Coconut Hair Oil?

Well, yes I do recommend this to curly haired beauties as mineral oil is good for your hair. Otherwise, you can skip this.
No I would not repurchase, as I’m very regular at oiling my hair, so I prefer oils that get absorbed into my scalp as I leave it overnight. Also, I expected it to be tender coconut hair oil and not just 3% tender coconut out of 100% other ingredients. I’m going to stick to my normal routine of mixing 5-6 oils and giving my hair a nice hot oil champi 😀

Thank you for reading, lots of loveeee 😀

  6. Oh what a disappointment! I mean I’m sure my hair wouldn’t mind mineral oil, but when you advertise it as “tender coconut oil” it has to have a size-able amount of that, right!

Nice review. I wanted to buy this, but I shall pass.
