Today I would be reviewing almond oil from Patanjali. There are 2 versions of almond oil from Patanjali-Divya badam rogan almond oil (This is sweet almond oil) and the one I am going to review today. As most of us might know, almonds are one of the most nutritious nuts and high in magnesium. It is useful for healthy growth of hair, skin and nails.
Product claims:
Strengthens, softens and conditions the hair and prevents hair fall.
Price:
Rs.50 for 100 ml
Shelf life:
24 months
Packaging:
It comes in a transparent plastic bottle with brown cap and comes in a rectangular carton. (Sorry, I have thrown the box )There is lid on the cap which helps in taking oil in smaller amount as well. It locks with a ‘click’ which avoids spillage.
Ingredients:
Surprisingly, the main component of this hair oil is sesame oil and not the almond oil. The quantity of sesame oil is 20 times than that of almond oil!
My experience with Patanjali Almond Hair Oil:
I had used Bajaj Almond drops long back (completely hated its smell) and after reading so many benefits of almond oil, I wanted to buy one again. So picked up this when it was available in a general store near my place. That time I was not aware that there is also a sweet almond oil variant by Patanjali.
Coming to the review, it is a dark yellow coloured oil with mild smell. It will not be bothersome once the oil is applied. I mix it with castor oil and warm it a little before applying. I would use coconut oil mixed with castor oil before using this oil but it gets very annoying to melt the coconut oil in winters. And, I like this one more than the coconut oil. There is very less hair fall and the hair is more manageable after shampooing compared to coconut oil.
As I mentioned earlier, sesame oil is a major component of this oil. So there is added advantage of sesame as well. Sesame oil treats damaged hair and is useful for hair fall reduction. So this oil is 2-in-1 solution for hair care. This is actually a pro rather than a con.
Overall, I am happy with this product as it has benefited my hair to a great extent.
Pros of Patanjali Almond Hair Oil:
1. Inexpensive.
2. Reduces hair fall.
3. Hair become manageable after wash.
4. Convenient cap which avoids spillage.
5. Very less quantity is required.
6. Benefit of both sesame and almond oil.
Cons of Patanjali Almond Hair Oil:
1. Sticky on hair. More shampoo is required to get rid of it.
2. It should be named Sesame and Almond hair oil.
IMBB Rating:
4.7/5
Will I repurchase Patanjali Almond Hair Oil?
May be. This single bottle will not get over for a long time. I am using it from past 2 months and it is hardly over. Also, I like experimenting with different types of hair oils.
Do I recommend Patanjali Almond Hair Oil?
Yes. Even though it contains lesser amount of almond oil, it is great for hair.
