Patanjali Multani Mitti Face Pack

My Experience with Patanjali Multani Mitti Face Pack:

Multani mitti is considered to be really good for the skin. I have used a home-made face pack of multani mitti and rose water en number of times during the hot summer season (when my face tends to get more oily). During one of my visits to the Patanjali store, I saw this product and was instantly tempted to pick it up! A ready-to-use multani mitti pack, added with other natural ingredients… nothing like it! Let’s see how this one worked for me!

Patanjali Multani Mitti Face Pack

This face pack comes in a simple tube packaging like the face washes by Patanjali. It is mess-free, sturdy and travel friendly. The cap snaps shut and is totally leak proof. This white colored tube has a design of multani mitti and aloe vera on it. The description of the product, list of ingredients and other details have been mentioned on the back of the tube. Nothing great about the packaging – yet simple and effective!

The face pack is light brownish yellow in color; just like multani mitti. It don’t think it smells like fuller’s earth and I feel it has some kind of sweet herbal fragrance. It is quite mild and dissipates after 2 minutes of application. So, people with sensitive might not have a problem with this. The texture is soft, smooth and creamy. The consistency is perfect!! Neither runny nor too thick! Such a texture and consistency makes application really easy.

The application is a bit different than how we generally apply face packs. We generally pat dry our face and then apply the mask/pack. But in this case, it has been advised that one should apply this pack on wet skin. This is necessary because multani mitti can be very drying for the skin and can make it stretchy. Also, this pack dries up way too quickly if used on dry skin. If applied on wet skin, it stays on for at least 10 minutes.

Now, moving on to the performance part of this product! My skin gets a bit dry and stretchy during winter, and a bit oily and sticky during summer. But even during winter, my t-zone does get slightly sticky. I generally apply this on wet skin and wash it off after 15 minutes. Skin feels soft and smooth. It does feel a bit radiant and fresh. However, the glow lasts for just an hour or so. Once, I waited for 30 minutes before I applied a moisturizer. Yet, my skin did not feel stretchy. It clears the oil, dirt and stickiness, but it doesn’t control the appearance of oil on my face. My t-zone starts feeling a bit sticky after an hour or so, but I won’t consider this as a con, since this product does not really make any such claims.

Pros of Patanjali Multani Mitti Face Pack:

  • Inexpensive.
  • Makes skin soft and smooth.
  • Cleanses well.
  • Gives a fresh, radiant look to the face.
  • If applied as directed on the pack, it does not make skin stretchy.
  • Mild pleasant fragrance.
  • Sturdy packaging.
  • Perfect consistency and easy application.

Cons of Patanjali Multani Mitti Face Pack:

  • Not recommended for people with very dry skin.
  • Contains parabens.
  • The glow that this pack imparts lasts for just an hour or so.

IMBB Rating:

3/5

Verdict:

It is a decent product for regular use and is extremely pocket friendly. For people with normal, oily, combination, or slightly dry skin, this pack will work well.  However, it might not be a good option for people with extremely dry skin.

  1. Parabens is a no no. And lasts just for an hour! Then why are we wasting our money and 10 mins on application.
There a better substitute. Get a pack of sandalwood power, make a paste with rose water or milk, after it dries rub lightly so as to scrub. The skin feels so fresh after that. And the glow remains for more than 5-6 hours. My experience.

    1. Have tried this face pack. And I agree the glow lasts a lot more than this ready to use one!! But these packs come in handy when you are in a hurry, or when all the required ingredients are unavailable….
