Introduction:
Pears has become synonymous with purity over the years. the pears transparent soap is one thing that generations swear by. My mother always stalks up on the pears transparent soap for the harsh northern winters. Being in Pune, Maharashtra with almost nil winters has not made Pears any less favourite with me .
Pears has now come up with 3 new face washes: fresh and gentle, second one being their regular pure one, and another oil clear one too with lemon flower extarct. For all of you who have tried their pure face wash honey coloured facewash, this one is definitely for you!
What to expect:
Pears fresh and gentle face wash is a bluish tinted gel with blue micro beads. The beads happen to be just the right size and shape for everyday exfoliation. A pea-sized amount lathers more than enough for a single neck and face wash. One 60 ml should last you for two months looking at the lathering formula, as you will be surprised as to how little of the product you need per day!
It does exactly what it claims: Cleansing! For everyone who is looking for everyday exfoliation after being exposed to dust, pollution, grime and humidity, this face wash is ideal to carry along in your handbags! It will leave u looking fresh and squeaky clean anytime!
I am bothered with oily skin and so bought this one with beads over the oil clear one with no beads. It does not although do anything for skin lightening, just gives a thorough clean feel! Great for the summers ahead!
This face wash reminds me of Himalaya herbals gentle exfoliating daily face wash equally priced!

Here is the catch, ladies! The smell is awful!
It lets out a super medicated chemical smell which turns me off as I feel I am just slathering on a fistful of a mish-mash of chemicals on facial skin. Given a choice, I would opt for the Himalaya herbals gentle exfoliating daily face wash with a fresher smell! Sorry pears! 🙁 I can’t understand why they could not make it smell better! I am sure it’s not that difficult. I would rather it was neutral in odour.
The flip-open cap is so delicate that the inner lock of it broke within a couple of days of purchase. I can not carry it along in my purse any more. Wish they would do some thing about it!
Will I buy it again?
No, unless they work on improving the smell of this tube’s contents. Although, I would definitely buy it for the gentle exfoliation it provides.
I love their regular facewash..Has been my favourite from school days..

I love using the original pears soap but never tried their face washes, May be I could give the original face wash a try. I love pears ads also. 🙂

the smell is chemical def, but pears is supposed to be “so not chemical”
but may be they will improve
Himalaya daily has a pleasant smell def
but do try the other two variants that pears has come up with
may be they work for us! 🙂

the beads are not rounded or anything
just powdery blue ones
but daily exfoliation is not good so the size of the pears one is just appropriate for daily exfoliation

woo, this face wash looks interesting and i love pears! does it help in controlling oil/sebum? because i have a very oily face (t-zone area). i need something that can control my face’s oil secretion especially because when I put on makeup, even an MUFE Matte primer does not work for me. 🙁

Neha, since you have oily skin try using Pears Oil Clear Soap (the green one). I havent tried the face wash yet, but i have pimple prone skin and it really works great for me..Been using it for years alternating with Clean and Clear soap (its great too)..It lasts forever too..Also not expensive and worth a try..Cheers.. 🙂 🙂
Hi, Incidentally today itself I lodged a complaint with Hindustan Unilever for changing the ingredients of the product. I have been using the old earlier facewash.. the one which had milk protein and glycerin. U can say I am its biggest fan, but they just removed it now and introduced the new range in 3 colors ( same as their soaps ). Now, the earlier orange one is not the same as the new orange one. Earlier one had glycerin, milk protein, and NO chemically tingling smell. Besides it brought a glow. This new orange one is CRAP ! I checked the ingredients… they have changed the contents, and its more sticky gel like now… the earlier one was fluid and flowy, not at all sticky gel like. Ewwww ! And the smell… Yuck ! I am trying to buy as much of the earlier stock as I can from anyone and everyone ! else donno what to do 🙁
