Percy and Reed Splendidly Silky Moisturising Shampoo Review

Percy and Reed is a new brand available only in Sephora as far as I know. I got tempted by the bottle as it looks very quirky and cute. Also, with the quote written on it “Dry? Hit the bottle!” I am having a bad time with my hair and I definitely needed a moisturizing shampoo, so I got 50 ml version of this shampoo.

My Take on Percy and Reed Splendidly Silky Moisturising Shampoo:

Let me first tell you about my hair type. I have very dry and wavy hair. I have very mixed reviews about this product. This shampoo does not lather much hence it does not give a very clean feeling after the shower. The second thing, I always end up using more than the required amount in order to lather it up, which makes my hair even more dry. However, my cousin who resides in Ireland, UK loved this shampoo and it’s her HG. She says this is the best shampoo she has ever used. It really moisturizes her hair and leaves it super shiny and glossy.

Percy and Reed shampoo

This shampoo is supposed to deeply hydrate your hair and provide you with the perfect cure for weak and dry hair. It is designed to help your hair through daily wear and tear and strengthen each strand while restoring moisture all over. The product claims it is formulated for dry, frizzy, rebellious, heat damaged hair of all lengths.  At times, when I use it, my hair becomes silky soft and full of life.

It has a beautiful fragrance which fades away after a little while.

Talking about the texture, it’s a bit creamy with runny consistency.  It claims to give you the moisturized hair as if you have undergone the most luxurious treatment, but on my hair, it didn’t bring about much difference. Overall, this product fared out really average for me.

Pros of Percy and Reed Splendidly Silky Moisturising Shampoo:

  • Beautiful smell.
  • Quirky and attractive packaging.
  • Travel-friendly tube.

Cons of Percy and Reed Splendidly Silky Moisturising Shampoo:

  • Not sulphate-free.
  • Not silicone-free.
  • No satisfactory results.
  • Doesn’t leave hair super moisturized.
  • Doesn’t lather much.
  • Does not give a very clean feeling.
  • Works for some and not for others.
  • Since it doesn’t lather much, one would tend to use more amount than required.

  1. Amisha, the salt content in water have an effect in working of shampoos. Maybe there’s high tds in the water at your place.

  2. It’s not sulfate and silicone free. Much better shampoos are available Amisha. Don’t lose hope! 🙂
