Today I will be reviewing for you a product from Dr.Perricone MD. It is the Blue Plasma skin peel.

My Experience with Perricone MD Blue Plasma Skin Peel

Skin care is something which I take very seriously and truly believe that if there is something worth investing in, it is good skincare. I have normal-dry skin and my skin does tend to get very flaky which does not look too good when topped with makeup as makeup tends to cling to dry areas on my face. Hence I love exfoliating my skin 1-2 times a week. When I saw the claims on this product, about it acting as a gentle peel and removing dead skin cells and it is also safe enough to use everyday, I was excited to give this a try.

The bright blue serum comes in bottle with a dropper dispenser which helps as I only use 2-3 drops on my face at night . I rub the serum in my hands and then tap my face instead of slathering it on. The serum does get absorbed immediately and does not leave any greasy or sticky residue on skin. It can be used alone or topped with a moisturizer which is what I usually prefer doing. I do not prefer using this during the day mainly because the scent usually kills my appetite.

Scent:

The thing I hate about this product is its highly disgusting fishy smell. It does claim to contain Salmon egg enzyme so I was expecting some fishy smell but it truly is very potent and repugnant. It does disappear after 1-2 minutes. The smell does linger on skin faintly which is why I top it off with my better smelling moisturizers. If you have sensitive nose this product is definitely not for you.

Effect:

The most noticeable immediate effect is that my skin feels incredibly soft after using this. My skin literally feels bouncy. I do notice I don’t get as many dry patches on my face when I use this regularly but apart from these few benefits I have not seen much difference in my skin overall. I do suffer from occasionally breakout and lately full blown acne and this serum neither irritated it nor resolved it. I don’t see any noticeable difference in the way my skin looks overtime or the texture of my skin either.

Since I am in my 20s I cannot support the claim of it helping with wrinkles and fine lines either. This product like all of Dr.Perricone products is not cheap. $95 may seem very expensive and for that price I think there are so many other products/peels in the market like AHA peels which perform much more exceptionally than this. Therefore I do would not recommend this nor would repurchase it.
