My Take on Peter Thomas Roth Mega Rich Body Wash:

Peter Thomas Roth is an exclusive skin care brand and its tagline reads “Clinical Skin Care.” Their products are expensive. This is their first product that I have tried and I thought I would review it here. This body wash is a part of their Mega-Rich Body collection. Other products from the collection include body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, etc.

I love to try out and collect different body washes – shower gels, creams, etc. It is almost an obsession. Generally, I don’t think that there is too much of a difference between any two kinds of body washes. At the end of the day, all that a body wash has to do is clean your skin without drying it out or irritating it too much. Secondary to that, one can opt for a body wash that claims to exfoliate and/or moisturise while cleansing. Thirdly, it is the fragrance of the body wash that counts.

With these three to four factors in mind, let me tell you about the Mega-Rich Body Wash.

Cleansing: This body wash is an effective cleanser. You need about two to three pea-sized drops to generate a luxurious lather. It is best used with a loofah or a wash cloth. Your skin will feel squeaky clean afterwards. It does not irritate my skin or dry it out. My skin is definitely on the dry side, even in the summer, but this body wash does not cause any discomfort to my dry skin.

Exfoliation: Even though you will see coloured beads in this body wash, they do not serve any exfoliating purpose. In it itself, this formula does not exfoliate your skin. When used with a mesh sponge, it can exfoliate to some extent.

Moisturising: The beads in this body wash are claimed to be essential vitamins (Vitamin A, C, E and pro-vitamin B5) and moisturisers. While they may have some benefits for the skin in the long run over regular use, I do not find this body wash to be particularly moisturising. The only noticeable feature about it is that it is not drying at all, which is what some shower gels tend to be.

Fragrance: The fragrance is quite mesmerising and refreshing. I really like it. From what I gather, it is a predominantly citrus-based fragrance with some other fruity undertones.

Pros of Peter Thomas Roth Mega Rich Body Wash:

  • Good body cleanser that generates a nice, luxurious rather.
  • You need very little of the product on a daily basis.
  • It does not dry out or irritate the skin in any way.
  • It has a beautiful fragrance.

Cons of Peter Thomas Roth Mega Rich Body Wash:

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this body wash. I don’t see any controversial items in the ingredient list either. But you must keep in mind that it is not moisturising enough for you to skip your moisturising routine altogether. It also does not exfoliate your skin, so you will still need an additional exfoliator.

My Verdict on Peter Thomas Roth Mega-Rich Body Wash:

This is definitely a very nice product. It is an effective cleanser that the skin appreciates. It has a refreshing fragrance. However, I have to say that it is not something that my skin can’t do without. I would much rather invest in a good body lotion or shampoo/conditioner than a body wash, since there are several other good options in the market, but if you would like to indulge, then this is worth a try.

  1. I tried one of their products just last week, and I just love it. Will try this too, especially since it does not contain controversial ingredients. I love products with good fragrance.
