Today I’ll be reviewing the Philips Kerashine Hair Straightener HP8316.

I purchased this product as I wanted to purchase a new hair straightener. Philips is a very reputed brand and also has a good variety of hair straighteners. The reason I chose this particular hair straightener amongst others variants was because of the Keratin Infusion in the ceramic plates of the Hair Straightener.

My Experience with Philips Kerashine Hair Straightener HP8316:

My Hair Type: I have medium length, wavy and frizzy hair. I purchased this product as the product claims to add shine to the hair and also make it silky smooth.

Body: This hair straightener is a sleek black colour hair straightener with protective ceramic coating with Keratin infusion. This hair straightener has extra wide plates which help to straighten the hair perfectly. The temperature of the ceramic plates completely hits up within 60 seconds which saves a lot of time. I completely love the way I can easily lock this hair straightener with just the click of a button. The swivel cord also helps to move and twist the straightener as per one’s convenience.

The ceramic plates are golden in colour. The width of the plates helps to straighten the hair completely in one stroke depending upon the hair type. The length of the ceramic plate is quite small so one needs to make sure that the sections/partitions of the hair have been made very small. If hair gets stuck outside the ceramic plates, it leads to hair breakage. So one needs to be very careful and form small partitions that ensures that the hair don’t get stuck at the ends of the ceramic plate.

As there is a need to make small partitions, it tends to consume a lot of time. There is a vibrating sound once the hair straightener is switched on, which is pretty annoying. There is only one power (temperature) setting to this hair straightener, I would personally prefer at least 2-3 temperature setting as it is less harmful straighten hair at a lower temperature.

The straightener straightens my hair completely within one stroke. The extra wide ceramic plates are very helpful. Hair becomes soft, smooth and shiny after use but the shine doesn’t last for long. This hair straightener has also helped to reduce the frizz of my hair. I haven’t noticed any hair fall after using this hair straightener. My hair becomes completely straight and the effect last for 2-3 days. I would suggest that one must use a heat protection spray before using this hair straightener.

Yes but only to those people for whom the power/temperature setting wouldn’t be an issue.
