Philosophy Renewed Hope in A Jar Moisturizer Review

As I grow old, I have started to include a lot of chemicals and acids in my skin care routine to maintain the quality of my skin and its texture, and also to prevent premature aging. The term “chemicals and acids” might sound a little too harsh to include in regular skin care regime, but I have, for far too long, dabbled with all natural skin care routine and although it works, it takes far too long to notice an appreciable improvement in skin quality, hence my new obsession with ‘chemicals and acids.”

My Experience with Philosophy Renewed Hope in A Jar:

I wanted to begin the change in my skin care regime by changing my daily moisturizer. I had my eyes set on one by Tatcha or Drunk Elephant, but for them, I would have to unstring my purse way too much :P, so I settled for some affordable brands like Origin or Fresh or Hope. This is my experience with a moisturizer from Philosophy’s Hope which won an Allure beauty award.
This product comes in a generous size jar which is a little deceiving because there is another smaller jar inside which holds the product, but irrespective of the size, it does hold the quantity mentioned. It is a sturdy, leak-proof jar and I admire its simplicity.

The product is in the form of a usual, thick, moisturizing lotion and resembles more of cold cream than a runny daily lotion. However, it is not oily at all which would work well for most of the skin types, except that I would personally prefer something higher in oil content because that is what my dry skin desires.

The product claims to contain ground-breaking formulation which features a triple blend of alpha hydroxy acids, three forms of hyaluronate, plus an Asian fruit extract. AHA’s are known for their skin renewal and rejuvenating properties and hyaluronate is known for its anti-ageing properties. I always think that claims of a product are way to exaggerated but as long as they do half of what they claim to do, I am happy! This cream has reduced the appearance of pores on the apple of my cheeks and my under-eye area looks well hydrated, brighter with less visible lines.

Philosophy Renewed Hope in A Jar

I had realistic expectations from this product and it did fulfil them, so overall, I am happy as a consumer and do recommend this Renewed Hope in A Jar to others as well.

Pros of Philosophy Renewed Hope in A Jar Moisturizer:

  • It comes in a good-sized tub which is made up of sturdy, translucent plastic and is travel friendly. It comes in three different size jars which is the best deal offered by these high-end brands. I usually buy the smaller size to try out before I can commit to shelling out more money.
  • It has a fascinating ingredient list.
  • Allure beauty award-winning product.
  • Has no fragrance which works great for me.
  • It is easily available in Sephora stores or online.
  • It does not make skin oily and is perfect as a day moisturizer.

Cons of Philosophy Renewed Hope in A Jar Moisturizer:

  • Availability can be an issue for some, but I think Sephora ships worldwide now.
  • Can be pricey for some (especially if bought in INR).
  • I wish it was higher in oil content because I have extremely dry skin.

Verdict:
It is a good skin cream which worked well for me. It reduced appearance of pores and fine lines and provides a great base for my makeup. I do recommend it to others and is worth the money I spend on it. New users can buy the smallest size to try it out and see if how it works for them.
