My experience with Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc Free Mineral Loose Powder:

The Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Loose Powder comes in seven shades but all these shades would only cater to light and medium skin tones. I picked up the shade ‘Natural Beige’ which is a good match for my medium skin.

The powder is packaged in an oval translucent plastic container with a clear cap. There is a small kabuki brush which snaps onto the inner top of the container. The brush is pretty small and feels slightly rough. But it is something you can use in a pinch.

There is a sifter in the lid with a snap on cover which is very convenient. With most loose powders, you have to be really careful when you open the lid if you want to avoid powder flying everywhere! This design helps contain the mess within the inner lid. To get some powder out of the container, you can invert the jar and tap the bottom a few times. The powder gets collected in the inner tray, which you can access by opening the snap on cover.

I am quite happy with the packaging but I find it a bit too small. The oval shape makes sure that the size of the container is compact, which is good for carrying it in bag or storing it in your makeup collection, but the shape and size makes it difficult to fit a proper powder brush on to the inner tray. I like using the Real Techniques Powder brush but it is too big for this container. That results in quite some powder flying about when I try to pick it up with the brush!

The powder is very finely milled. It feels very soft and silky and blends very easily. It is quite good for oily-skinned folks like me. It gives a satin finish and makes the skin look pretty good without any cakiness. It provides some amount of coverage so you can wear it on top of a moisturizer when you want some basic coverage. My skin remains oil-free for at least 4 hours, after which I see some oiliness on my nose and inner cheeks. I do have extremely oily skin, so oil-free for 4 hours is quite good for me!

Recommendation:
In spite of the size of the container being a problem every time I use this, I really like this powder. It gives a natural skin-like finish and keeps me oil-free for a good amount of time. Do check it out if you get a chance.
