I spotted the new Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer on a recent trip to Shopper’s Drugmart and was super excited because I had seen it on their website and all over YouTube, but none of the drugstores near my place were carrying this bronzer. It was priced at CAD $19.99, but there was a $9 instant coupon on the package that you can use for cash back. So, I thought for $11 it wasn’t a bad deal at all. I already own quite a lot of bronzers, as I love the effect it gives to the complexion, but a new exciting bronzer doesn’t hurt, right? So, read on to find out what I think about this bronzer 🙂

My Experience with Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer:

When I read the words “butter bronzer,” I thought it would be of buttery consistency, hence this name, but the reason it is called so is because of the presence of Murumuru, Cupuacu, and Tucuma butters from the amazon and is packed with essential fatty acids and pro-vitamins to leave your skin feeling hydrated and soft! Isn’t that exciting ladies!! A hydrating bronzer? Wow!

Packaging:  This Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer comes in an adorable tropical-looking compact complete with palm trees and bright colors on it. As soon as you open the top, you can catch a whiff of the buttery goodness going on in there. It smells like GoodDay Butter Cookies or close to that 😛 The product pan is beautiful and is shaped like sea waves. In the bottom of the compact, there’s a mirror and a strange little sponge applicator that Physicians Formula claims is perfect for applying such a creamy formula. Personally, I think that the sponge applies the bronzer a bit streaky on me, so I switched to a brush and it worked much better that way!

Color:  Oohhh!!! The colour!!! This bronzer has the perfect bronze-y gold shade with peach undertones for adding the correct amount of warmth and glow to the face. This is certainly not a contouring powder, but the colour is best suited for adding some glow and warmth to the skin on a daily basis. The shade of this bronzer had me fall head-over-heels in love with it!

Pigmentation: I would say the pigmentation is just right – neither too pigmented nor too light. You can just pick up some product on a brush and swipe it all over the face where you need glow and warmth and not worry about looking like a clown.

Texture: It feels very silky and buttery to the touch, like almost creamy! It also contains soft-focus pigments and ultra-refined pearl that gives a glow that looks so beautiful. This bronzer by no means contains chunky shimmer or glitter, has the correct amount of finely-milled shiny powder with a bronze-y glow.

Longevity: The bronzer does have considerable longevity and does stay on the face for about 6-7 hours which is incredible! I do set my face with a setting spray or a face mist and it does increase the longevity of this product. I could not ask for more.

Quality: Personally, I have found my holy grail bronzer in “Light Bronze!” Yes, it’s super light but it’s perfect for me because I just like to warm up my skin just a little bit. This adds just enough color to give me a slightly sun-kissed, healthy glow and I just have to blend it down my neck a little bit and it fades perfectly into the rest of my skin. The texture is divine. I love how soft and creamy it is. It doesn’t cake or accentuate pores and fine lines. It also lasted all day on me without oxidizing or turning funky. It’s just beautiful!

Overall, I’m so excited to actually have a bronzer in my collection that I can wear it every day to warm up my complexion without looking obvious. I’m talking holy grail bronzer here! Now, I know why on earth has this product become an instant favourite of beauty gurus and bloggers all over the world! I highly recommend this baby to all ladies who would like to have a glowing complexion without looking over the top. Grab it ladies, you can thank me later.
