I recently picked up a few eye products from Physicians Formula “Shimmer Strips” range. And today, I am reviewing their Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Trio in “Warm Nude Eyes.” Read on to find out how these kohls fared.

My Experience with Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Trio – Warm Nude Eyes:

Packaging:  The kajals comes in a short plastic pencil format with a long conical tip and a transparent cap. The plastic packaging matches the color of the kajal itself. The packaging looks quite classy. The kajal itself is in a non-retractable stick format.

The entire kajal is exposed and this makes it quite prone to breakage. It doesn’t come with its own sharpener. So, once the tip becomes too blunt, you would need to find a sharpener to do the job.

Shades/Pigmentation:  The shades in the “Warm Nude Eyes Eyeliner Trio” are Copper, Bronze and Black. All the shades have slight shimmer in them which adds to a beautiful sheen. The shades are beautiful and warm toned and quite suitable for Indian skin tones.

However, the pigmentation is a major con. You would typically expect a kajal to deliver loads of color in a single swipe. However, you need to swipe these kajals multiple times for the color to show up on the eyelids. Comparatively, the black shade has the best pigmentation of the lot.

Texture/Staying Power:  The texture of these kajals is just about okay. While they are not very creamy, they are not too stiff to work with either. There is no pull and they are pretty easy to apply on the lash line.

Physician’s Formula claims that these are safe for wear on the waterline. However, since there is visible shimmer, I do not use them on the waterline.

The staying power varies from shade to shade. The Copper and Bronze shades have a really poor staying power and disappear within 3 hours or so. The Black shade lasts slightly longer, around 4 hours, but it also smudges and migrates around the lash lines. So, the claim of these being waterproof does not hold true.

• Beautiful warm shades.
• Nice finish with a sheen.
• Glides easily on the lash line.

Cons of Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Trio – Warm Nude Eyes:

• Not strongly pigmented.
• Poor staying power.
• Not waterproof as claimed.
• Packaging exposes the entire liner and this may result in breakages.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Trio – Warm Nude Eyes?

Though the kajal trio looks appealing and promising in the packaging, it is far from it. I will not recommend because of the poor pigmentation and staying power.  I have already bought one more trio from this range, but will not purchase any more.
