Hi,

This is Shilpa. I have been following IMBB from last year. I have a query. I am 24 years old with pinkish fair skin tone which is normal to oily (only forehead and nose). I have never used any makeup in my life. I have sensitive acne prone skin. I am going to attend my friend’s wedding next month. So, I need advice for the best makeup products.

1) primer (under Rs.500)
2)foundation(upto Rs.800)
3)eyeshadow(plz advice matte ones with neutral-peachy colors preferrably upto Rs.500)-I dislike shimmers.
4)Loose powder/compact(under Rs.700)
5) matte finish blush (I have natural pinkish flush on my cheeks even without makeup so dont know if I need this?)

After going through many reviews, I found that bodyography primer and lakme absolute white intense skin cover might suit me? Please advice if I can buy these.

Sorry for the long post, I have no idea about makeup hence relying on you all.

  5. Try colorbar primer 750 INR
    Lotus herbals pure stay foundation (wont oxidize) under INR 600
    Again, lotus compact under 500
    Eyeshadow, try to get acouple of nyx singles, so u can have a choice and they have mattes. :))
    Blush colorbar or boursjois they have mattes!

  7. Hey,here are my suggestions :
    Primer : try bodygraphy primer ..
    Foundation : try revlon colorstay or revlon whipped creme.. Both are for 800
    E/s – try inglot ..it might be on sale right now 😛 even,bourjois has some ..
    Compact – chambor silver shadow
    Matte blush- colorbar,inglot and bourjois also has I think..

  8. Since its not your wedding 🙂 I dont think you have to splurge so much you know. You get many products with amazing quality at much less price.
    For instance, go to a Lotus counter- you can get their Purestay/Natural Blend range products- Foundation and compact both.
    For blush, colorbar is a great option.
    Eyeshadows- Decide on the look you are going for, if you want a n*de/smoky look, go for a single brown, light silver(for highlighting) and dark blue/dark green eyeshadows. These colors will go with anything and will help in creating many looks. Browse through IMBB for reviews on matte eyeshadows and pick the ones you like, you can buy them online.
    Just take care to buy foundations and compact at stores only, since you cant guess what color would suit you the most.

    Also for blush and eyeshadows, using the right brush is very important. get a basic blending and contouring eye brush from vega. They have a good blush brush too 🙂
