Pink Ombre Eyeliner Makeup – Breast Cancer Awareness Month Inspired

Hello IMBBians,

October being the month for Breast Cancer Awareness, I wanted to take this opportunity to do its official color inspired makeup tutorial – Pink. One of my absolute favourite ways of applying a liner is an ombre liner accompanied by a typical black liner. It not only keeps the color use limited, but also looks very stylish. You can use any color scheme with the similar technique explained below. Personally for the best ombre effect, I think at least 4 colors are needed. Here, I go from a white to light pink, darker pink and neon bright pink. You can also do this in the reverse, which will look very cute and unique. Let’s get into more details of the look shown here.

Brushes Used:

  • E.L.F. Professional Blending Eye Brush used to apply highlitger on the brow bone and pat face compact all over the lid prior to applying any makeup.
  • The Liner brush is a stationery paint brush which says “3 Fine Art Taklon S-412” on it. (A stationery/art store is a great place to find many makeup brushes).
  • Crown angled Liner Brush – To apply each of the ombre colors.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: I first applied the primer, Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden, where I wanted the liner to be, since this is a very opaque primer, it acts as a good guideline for placing the liner on. You can even use a white liner instead.

Step 2: Next, taking a neon pink, Savage, from the Electric Palette, and an angled liner brush, I spritzed some Fix+ on it and applied it in the outer corner outlining where I wanted the eyeliner wing to be.

Step 3: Next, I took a white, on the same brush with Fix+ sprayed on it, and placed it in the inner corner. The idea is to have guidelines first drawn in the inner and outer corner and joining them with other colors by placing them in between.

Step 4: Then taking a light pink, I placed it beside the white, first I patted the color till I was happy with the opacity & then I wiped the brush and blended the edges between white and light pink.

Step 5: I then repeated the above step with a darker pink, which was lighter than Savage in the outer corner, joining it to the Savage. Then, I blended the newly placed color on either side.

Step 6: Then, I thickened the colors to the size I wanted, if you are not going to apply a black liner, then you can keep this fairly thin but since I wanted a thicker black line too, I decided to thicken the colors just placed.

Step 7: Then came the kajal in the lower water line; blending it out to eliminate harsh lines.

Step 8: I further smoked out the kajal with a pink color, to better tie up the look with the colors placed above.

Step 9: Finally, I applied black liner on the upper lid and cleaned up around the eye with a concealer, applied a brow highlighter, mascara and the look is now complete.
