My Experience with Pixi Beauty Bronzer – Subtly Suntouched:

Bronzers are such a summertime staple for most people here in the US where fair to pale skin people look to impart a glow and colour which us Indians are naturally blessed with. Till now, I had never experimented with bronzer and I really thought I never needed one, but I finally did dip my toes in the bronzer world with this product from Pixi.

Packaging:

I love their signature lime green packaging which helps the product stand out and look very summery and appealing. This bronzer comes in a screw off cap top with a see-through cap with their “fairy” logo printed on top.  It is a very travel-friendly tub, but I do love products which come with an attached mirror which help make application easier on-the-go.

Color:

The color “Subtly Suntouched” is described as a medium honey tan. Since I am new to bronzers, this was a perfect shade to try on in theory as I did not want to go overboard with it and end up looking like an overdone Kim Kardashian.  This shade matched so perfectly with my MAC NW 23 skin tone that it hardly shows up which is both an advantage and a disadvantage for me. The advantage being I can use this without being scared of it looking too noticeable and overdone. Since it does have a satiny finish without any visible shimmer particles, it still imparts a youthful glow when used on areas where the sun would naturally hit my face hence imparting a “subtly sunkissed” look indeed. I also can use this in place of my setting powder all over my face and it works beautifully that way too.  The powder itself feels very silky to touch and applies and blends easily without looking streaky or patchy.

Now, the disadvantage is that I cannot really use this bronzer to do any contouring. Also, since it does match my skin tone so perfectly, I can’t really make out when I have used too much of it. One time I used so much of it without realizing that my husband was the one that pointed out I look so much darker than my usual self. Since then, I use this only as a light dusting.

I also like the fact that the main ingredient in this is Mica instead of talc which makes it more of a mineral-based product hence healthier for the skin.

It does have a very subtle floral type scent which does not linger when applied.

It does have average staying power. I have noticed the “glow” it imparts on my skin for 4 hours after which it starts to fade away.

Overall, it is a good bronzer for those who have little experience with bronzers.  This one imparts a suntouched look to the face as it can also double up as a highlighter. But do not buy this shade if you are looking for a contouring bronzer. The shade “Summertime” would be more suited for that.

Pros of Pixi Beauty Bronzer – Subtly Suntouched:

  • Mica-based powder which is healthier than talc for skin.
  • Beautiful lime green travel-friendly tub.
  • Can be used as a setting powder and a highlighter or used to give the face an all over glow, a multi-tasking product.
  • No strong upsetting scent.
  • Perfect shade for beginners.
  • Satiny finish without any heavy shimmer or glitter particles.
  • Does not clog or accentuate pores.

Cons of Pixi Beauty Bronzer – Subtly Suntouched:

  • Available only in 3 shades.
  • This particular shade matches my skin tone hence cannot be used for contouring.
  • Average staying powder of about 4-5 hours.
  • Does not come with an attached mirror.

IMBB Rating:

3.5/5
