Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Apricot Glow Review

Hello beauties,

Back with another review, an eyeshadow duo by Pixi Beauty this time. A few months ago, a near and dear one from IMBB advised me to pick up stuff from Pixi Beauty if I wanted good stuff within budget, especially for reviews (being honest here, most of my purchases in all this time have been for reviews purely :P). So, let’s move on to the review of Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in shade Apricot Glow without wasting much time.

Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Apricot Glow

Product Description:
Give your eyes a shimmery summer glow with this Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Eye Duo in Apricot Glow. These ultra-smooth shadows blend effortlessly and can be used wet or dry, depending on your desired makeup look. Silky, vitamin-infused eye shadow to brighten and lift eyes.

Mineral eyeshadow

£5 for 0.75 gm. It’s made in China, Designed for USA and Distributed in UK. Strange and confusing 😀  Actually, it is available in UK and USA with price difference like in USA, you might get it for $4 approximately.

My Take on Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Apricot Glow:

The packaging is cute, sturdy and travel friendly, but definitely depicts a drugstore item. The olive pan is divided into two compartments to house the eyeshadow duo, with a clear lid that closes tight.

The “Apricot Glow” by Pixi contains a warm, shimmery peach shade on the left. The shimmer is micro and the warmth and intensity of shade is controlled making it an easy shade to use anytime. The right side shade is a mid-toned chocolate brown with micro golden shimmer. The texture of both shades is soft and smooth, but the pigmentation isn’t crazy.  In a single swipe, the shimmer takes the lead and the colors need to be built up (especially the peachy shade).

This may be more evident on my droopy and darker eyelids actually. There is a little fallout issue with the texture, but the shades aren’t chalky. Since I am warm skin toned, I will use the peach shade for highlighting eyelids or as a highlighter for face occasionally (because I am not much of a shimmer fan).

Shimmer eyeshadow

The longevity is average, 4-6 hours without primer, but the primer definitely improves the wear time and stops them from creasing, keeping them in place. I think for the price, makeup artist Petra Strand is doing a good job with Pixi Beauty products.

  • Shimmer isn’t my cup of tea.

IMBB Rating:

Would I Repurchase Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Apricot Glow?
I am not at all into eye makeup, I purchase them because I am an IMBB writing addict. I will hardly finish this and if I ever need more eyeshadows, I am looking forward to trying out makeup geek products. Give it a thought before making a purchase. It is definitely good, but not a must have.
