For someone who loves wearing lipsticks, it is important to keep the lips properly exfoliated and moisturized at all times. While my Bliss Fabulips has been standing me in good stead, I was on the lookout for something much more handy and travel friendly. And that’s when I noticed the Pixi Nourishing Lip Polish and decided to give it a try. Read on to find out more about this product.
A multi-tasking lip exfoliator that treats, renews and perfects lips for a super-smooth finish. This 2-in-1 lip exfoliator + nourisher helps to repair and protect dry, sensitive lips. Luxe, nutrient-rich formula smoothes lips with shea butter and a blend of sweet almond, apricot, and evening primrose oils. The unique massage applicator stimulates circulation, giving a healthy, plumped effect. Buff gently onto lips with applicator. Leave on for a healing and soothing treatment.
My Experience with Pixi Nourishing Lip Polish:
This lip polish comes in a sleek green plastic tube packaging with a screw on cap. When I had first got this product, I was expecting to squeeze the tube to dispense the product, but it so turned out that the tube comes with a built-in applicator. It has a tiny hole to dispense the lip polish and silicon nubs which you can use to massage the product onto your lips.
The nubs are firm but not harsh or scratchy on your lips. I love this packaging as it is very easy to use and not messy at all as there is no dipping fingers into scrub tubs. The slim tube is quite handy and travel friendly as well. A con of the opaque packaging is that you will never know how much product is left. Also, one more point is that the exfoliator should be kept clean at all times to avoid any hygiene issues. I simply brush it with an old toothbrush and wipe off with a tissue.
The lip polish itself is liquid like a clear gloss. There are no visible gritty exfoliating particles. I have to say that this product is a gentle scrub and feels more like a lip balm, but it does work well and removes dry flakes from my lips. It leaves my lips thoroughly moisturized and smooth. The packaging says that you can leave it on for a soothing treatment, but I usually wipe it off my lips with a clean tissue as I do not like the dead flakes sitting on my lips. I sometimes do follow it up with a thin layer which I leave on like a lip gloss.
I must add that this lip polish will not work if you have extreme problem lips. You would need something more heavy duty like the Bliss Fabulips.
The lip polish has a sweet mild citrus fragrance and flavor. I love it and it is not something too overpowering.
Overall, I am pretty impressed with this wonderful lip exfoliator + balm and especially love how portable it is.
Pros of Pixi Nourishing Lip Polish:
- Unique travel-friendly packaging with an applicator.
- Very handy and non-messy.
- Mild but effective scrub.
- Leaves the lips thoroughly moisturized and smooth.
- Can also double as a lip balm.
- Pleasant sweet fragrance.
Cons of Pixi Nourishing Lip Polish:
- Will not be as effective on extremely dry or flaky lips.
- Expensive for a drugstore brand.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Pixi Nourishing Lip Polish?
I would totally recommend this lip polish to anyone looking for a mild exfoliator plus lip nourisher. I will surely repurchase this when I run out of my current tube.
