Continuing with my reviews of the Pixi Mattelustre lipsticks, today, I am reviewing the shade “Plump Pink.” I have already reviewed the shades “Classic Red”, “Coral Red” and “Pure Fuchsia” from this range. Read on to know more about the shade “Plump Pink.”
Full-coverage, adjustable-finish lipstick for long lasting, vivid lip color with a plumping effect. The ultimate in multi-tasking lip enhancement, this demi-matte lipstick conditions, plumps and protects lips while giving long lasting, intense colour. Added peptides, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins C and E help to create fuller, and smoother-looking lips.
My Experience with Pixi Plump Pink Mattelustre Lipstick:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a cute mint-colored plastic tube. There is a colored band at the bottom which matches the shade of the lipstick. A sticker on the bottom carries the name of the lipstick.
The packaging is very simple and there is no other print on the tube except a very classy looking “Pixi” in light mint color.
Shade/Pigmentation: “Plump Pink” is a light milky pink shade. The shade looks pretty in the bullet and the hand swatch, but unfortunately, it doesn’t look all that great on my lips. The mauve undertones somehow make my face look sallow. The pigmentation is not too bold and is slightly on the sheer side.
The color can be built on by layering. This particular shade clumps a bit on layering.
Texture/Finish/Lasting Power: The texture of the lipstick is quite balm-like and it applies pretty well on the lips. The finish is a demi-matte and it has some sheen to it. I did not notice any plumping effect as advertised.
The lipstick does not feel drying on the lips. It is quite lightweight and actually feels like a balm. My lips feel soft and supple throughout the time that the lipstick wears.
The staying power is pretty good too and the lipstick lasts around 5-6 hours with light meals.
Pros of Pixi Plump Pink Mattelustre Lipstick:
- Lovely semi-matte finish.
- Good staying power – around 5-6 hours.
- Does not feel drying.
- Classy packaging.
Cons of Pixi Plump Pink Mattelustre Lipstick:
- This particular shade will not appeal to all.
- Slightly expensive compared to drugstore lipsticks.
- Some of you might not like the pigmentation which leans towards sheer.
- Slight clumping is noticed if layered.
- No visible plumping effect.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Pixi Plump Pink Mattelustre Lipstick?
I personally did not like this shade and will not repurchase. I will not recommend either.
