Hello lovely people,
After my not-so-good experience with Olay Night of Olay Firming Cream, I was on a hunt for another cream which could provide relief to my dry skin in this extreme dry weather. I was thinking of getting the good-old Pond’s cold cream when I spotted this variant. This came right in time when I was struggling dark, pesky marks which were left behind from the breakouts that I had a few days back.
Formulated with a complex of Vitamins B3 and C, this daily moisturizer fights discoloration to visibly diminish dark spots in 4 weeks, so skin looks more even toned and radiant.
Vitamin B3 – Known to reduce skin discolorations and redness.
Vitamin C – Known for its antioxidant rejuvenation properties.
USD 1.5 for 1.75 oz/50 g; USD 8.99 for 7 oz/200 g (may vary across stores).
My Experience with Pond’s Clarant B3 Dark Spot Correcting Cream:
The cream comes in a white pink plastic jar, I really dislike jar packaging. Given the consistency of the cream, it could be easily repackaged into a tube. Well, the good thing is that the cream also comes in a smaller, travel-sized jar which is the one I have. I use a small spatula to scoop out the cream.
The cream is white in color and the consistency of the cream is not thick, it’s buttery. In fact, it is more like a thick lotion. It spreads easily and gets absorbed into the skin easily too. I do not have to rub it too much to blend it into the skin. It sinks into the skin in just a couple of strokes.
This cream hydrates and moisturizes my skin well. It leaves my skin soft and smooth, and there is no oily, slick layer on my face in the morning when I wake up. Another good thing about the product is that it comes in a different variant for normal to oily skin as well 🙂 I am using the normal to dry skin one and it caters to my dry skin needs. I do not have any dry patches and my skin does not feel the need for additional moisture.
The cream did not cause any irritation on my sensitive skin, did not break me out either. It smells like roses and the fragrance does stay for some time on the skin, which I love. Well, who wouldn’t love to smell like roses 😛
Coming to the dark spot reduction claim, it does work. However, it does not show results as fast as some pricey creams and serums, but it’s not a dud either. I am using this for a month now and I do find a difference in the discolorations and dark spots on my face. They are visibly lighter and my face seems more even toned now. Since the cream does not contain any sunscreen, I use it only at night and in a month, I could see around 50-60% reduction in my dark spots. They are much lighter than they were and I hope will fade away with continuous usage.
Moreover, since the cream does not feel heavy on the face, I should be able to use it during summers too. Also, though I bought the smaller pack, just to try it out, I still have more than half of the jar left after one month of continuous usage 🙂
