Pond’s Triple Vitamin Moisturizing Lotion Review

Pond’s Triple Vitamin Moisturizing Lotion Review

I am a huge lotion fan. I am constantly in search of my HG lotion. That’s how I found this one 🙂

I bought this because of its ‘Triple Vitamin’ claim and because I thought Pond’s was a reputed brand, and thus it won’t be so bad.

This lotion is a triple vitamin moisturizing one, with vitamins B3, E and C.

Price:

It retails for Rs.109 for 300ml (10.15 fl.oz.)

Pond's Triple Vitamin Moisturizing Lotion

Ingredients:

Water, mineral oil, glycerine, cetearyl alcohol, niacinamide, sodium cetearyl sulphate, dimethicone, glyceryl stearate, paraffin, fragrance, microcrystalline wax, cellulose gum, methylparaben, disodium EDTA, DMDM hydantoin, propylparaben, tocopheryl acetate, benzophenone-3, BHT, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, simethicone.

Directions For Use:

Use daily after bath all over your body. Result – soft, smooth and radiant skin that leaves you feeling beautiful all over.

My Take on Pond’s Triple Vitamin Moisturizing Lotion:

I honestly did not like this at all. It doesn’t really harm my skin, but it has nothing going for it that would make me buy it again.  The smell is a very cloying mix of the typical ‘Pond’s smell’ and something else I cannot quite place, emphasis on cloying, it isn’t a bad smell, per se, but it is highly irritating.

This also contains Vitamins B3, E and C, and with all that, you’d generally expect something that works even remotely well.

Second

The consistency is almost runny.  This is actually one of the nice parts about this lotion.  It does not leave behind any shine or a greasy feeling.  It disappears into the skin without much fuss.  It doesn’t moisturize much. It just disappears, and does nothing!  The cap is an ordinary flip cap and it is quite tight.  However, the whole pink top itself is rather loose and will come off if you try carrying this around.  They also make a smaller bottle, but I assume that will have the same issue. So, I doubt you can carry even the smaller bottle.

Third

Pros:

• A little will go a long way. If this works for someone, they will surely find it lasts for a long time.
• Inexpensive.
• Good consistency.
• Leaves no greasy shine or slippery feel once it is used.
• Did not irritate my skin or make me break out.

Cons:

• Does not moisturize at all!  I have dry-ish skin and my sister has normal skin.  It didn’t do a thing, even for her. Do people have oily body skin??? ?:)
• The cloying fragrance.
• Since Unilever tests on animals, their products aren’t cruelty-free.
• Loose fitting pink top, cannot be carried around due to this.

I really like this lotion for the fact that it does not leave behind any greasy or sticky feeling, but skin is left pretty smooth. However, this smooth effect goes away within 10 minutes or so, leaving my skin pretty much like what it was before.  This is my hand with the lotion rubbed in. As you can see, it doesn’t have any oily sheen. The white areas are because of natural light 😛

Fourth

It doesn’t make sense to me, to make a product like this, which is of absolutely no use, and then price it so low.  People (like me) will buy it once, banking on Pond’s reputation and all that, and then will not buy it again, irrespective of whether they price it low or not.  Even if it was priced at Rs. 50 for 300ml, I will never buy this again, since it does nothing at all. It makes no sense to buy a lotion that doesn’t work, whatever the price! Perhaps Pond’s decided that the sales they generate from people being lured by the price (really, Pond’s?? 🙄 ) will be more profitable than if they actually made a good product and priced it higher.  I would rather pay double, triple or even more for the same 300ml and end up with something that actually works!

Will I Buy This Again?
No.

Infact I used to add few drop of water before applying. .nice fragnance..I liked it then. Now I use garnier body cocoon and I love it 🙂

  6. oily body skin… :hihi: I don’t think so. :nono:
and now I will never ever buy this because yo have given me a warning. The part that is the biggest trn-off for me is that you say it has an irritating smell. Also,I see that it ahs a useless packaging, and it isn’t even cruelty free. :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali:

    1. Hehe 😀
Psssh yeah! I try to like it (because I’ve bought it and kind of want to finish it off) but I just cannot! :stars:

  7. I really find that nearly all body lotions I’ve used that contain mineral oil provide zero moisture to my dry skin. I totally understand, lotions that do nothing really annoy me. 😕

    1. Yes! 🙁 I don’t even know why they make lotions that don’t even do anything!
And yeah, Ida, when I use this one, I can actually feel the huge mineral oil content. It is like baby oil mixed with water or something. Oh, and added stuff. 🙁

  8. Hi, guys

actually opposite to all your comments, i have found it very useable as i also has very very dry skin and used Dove, vaseline, garnier, body butter’s of various company :preen: , some how this is the one which is suited me the best  . Started smeeling like my own skin. :preen: ……. anyways all of us has different views, apart from sun protection i can give 4/5………. :))

  9. I use Ponds body lotion every winter. I love it’s fragrance and find it moisturising too!! My winters can’t complete without me using at least one bottle of this body lotion. 🙂

  10. I think a very old post to which I m replying..
I am following MB very religiously for few days now n I wanted to check what is the review given to one of my long term friends – Pond’s body lotion
I have been using this product for almost 9 years now.
To be frank I love it..the only difference is, I use it in the nights..
It moisturises the skin very well and even I feel my feet very clean and moisturised the next morning.
Yes, I agree with the smell part. It is not too pleasant and can be irritating to few(includes my husband)
I tried to switch to Vaseline cocoa body lotion , Himalaya and also Nivea. But none of them were as moisturising as this was..as Shvetank said, yes everyone has their own taste..but it isn’t too bad either 🙂

  11. However its a very good primer I just apply this lotion on my face n put lakme mousse it looks flawless try it
