Hope you’re all having a super amazing day. What do fragrances mean to you? Is it just your olfactory bulbs working to make something sensible out of that blooming flower that you just sniffed? Or is it an emotion, a multitude of thoughts, memories and stories that transport you to a fantasy dreamland? To me, fragrances are intertwined with sparkling memories, and each fragrance that I associate with has a story to tell. So, when I sniffed this pink perfume at the store, I was taken back to that evening where I had first smelled peonies at the florist’s. The firsts are always special. And, it was instant love.
Price: INR 3400 for 30 ml
Candy declares her love for flowers. She takes on a new flirtatious game, where sensuality is pushed to the fullest. The delicately sweet smell of Candy meets a new, refined bouquet of sparkling cedrat and blooming cosmos that intermingle with her elegant softness. Candy is blossoming.
Sparkling Cedrat, Bouquet Of Cosmos, Benzoin, Caramel, White Musk.
It is a spray bottle, and look at this bottle, doesn’t it portray a woman’s feminine attributes? It has a vintage feel but also has a fresh modern vibe infused into it. This would amplify a lady’s vanity for sure. The outer cardboard box is painted with a warm, tea rose hue and has flower motifs adorning the front side. The brand name is embossed on a black piping with gold letters. It screams luxury! 😉
My Experience with Prada Candy Florale Eau de Toilette Spray:
I had purchased this bottle during last winter. But since the colder months evoke a desire to be enveloped in more woody and creamier, musky scents, I had actually ignored it. As the usual scenario applies to women, I had forgotten all about it.
Fast forward summer time, my perfume caddie demanded an inspection. And from the depths of the dark woody cabinet, out came this ultra-gorgeous little bottle! It is a baby pink toned perfume, with very light, fresh and floral notes greeting your senses. It is absolutely perfect for the warmer months; you know the kind of light and airy scent that balances out the warmth in the air.
When you first sniff it, you would not be induced with a headache that usually accompanies strong floral or sweet smelling fragrances, but you’ll want to spritz yourself with its distinct peony smell. Right at the inception, you get a whiff of limoncello (sure it’s bitter, but who can say no to this Italian lemon shot?).
This is a fresh under-toned citrusy scent which corresponds to the sparkling cedrat. After around 15-20 minutes, the heart of peonies is very much apparent, and this is my favorite part. While the distinguishable aroma of peonies remains, the “imaginary flower” notes rustle to stamp its presence (at this point, I can smell a little caramel). Finally, the faintest balminess of earthy musk shreds the sweetness of the beginning and turns it into a woody-ish floral EDT.
Coming from the house of Prada, you can never ignore the sentiment of Milan! Imagine yourself walking down the cobbled stone alleys, adorned with this fragrance. The rich notes meet subtlety or touring the Amalfi coast while admiring the crispy blue, glistening waters of the Mediterranean. This perfume captures the essence of Italy in a bottle – the fragrance of freshly served gelato at a toy town Osteria.
The sillage is moderate, and I get a wear time of about 5 hours when I apply it on my skin. I usually spritz it thrice; behind my ear lobes and on one wrist. When sprayed on the clothes, it lasts really long and sometimes I can smell a faint trace of it even on the next morning if applied during the evening. It does not harm the skin nor does it stain clothes.
The longevity is enhanced if you’re predominantly enclosed in a cool environment; however, it performs really well even in the sweltering Kolkata humidity. I feel it is more inclined towards young women. It is subtle and sweet yet has the backdrop of ultimate elegance. It is appropriate for day and night time usage; however, warmer evenings would be paramount in bringing out its grace.
I always apply a drop or two before hitting the bed. It relaxes me and gives me a better chance to be more intimate with the fragrance, not to mention its inherent property of lulling me to sleep with charming dreams.
Pros of Prada Candy Florale Eau de Toilette Spray:
• Very fresh, airy floral scent
• Citrusy top notes which end up with mellow floral, earthy tones
• Not overpowering
• Pretty good longevity, even in humid conditions
• Suitable for day and night application
• Perfect successor to the original Candy, minus the gourmand sweetness.
Cons of Prada Candy Florale Eau de Toilette Spray:
• Sillage could have been better, however, this is a very delicate scent
IMBB Rating: 4.7/5 (I loveee it!!)
Will I Repurchase/Recommend Prada Candy Florale Eau de Toilette Spray?
I would recommend this perfume if you’re a fan of floral fragrances. It is extremely light and enhances your grace. A perfect summertime addition. However, since perfumes are totally personal choices, sniff it at the store once before investing in it. As for me, I have no qualms in repurchasing it, but I probably will not at the moment just for the sake of new trials.
Take care y’all!
