Prestige Cosmetics Trance Waterproof Eyeliner Review

Ola bonita chicas!

I do not know why but I have been all about the eyes recently. Eyes are certainly sexy; as I have said before and will probably reiterate a million more times, that they are the window to your soul! So I feel like even if you do not feel like a full face make up day even just a touch of an eye liner can brighten your day, solve all the world’s problems and maybe even spread world peace. When that eye liner happens to be a coloured one that is just like free cookie dough pieces being chucked on my favorite frozen yoghurt! So if you too are a fro yo fan and an eye liner fan, do stick around so I can warn you from spending your precious hard earned money on this total disaster of an eye liner. (I can’t help it! I give it all away in the introduction!)

Now first of all, I do not understand who is in charge of naming the products in this company. He seems to be the demented sibling of the person who names (rather numbers) Inglot eye shadows. Why would you call a blue eye liner trance? I have earlier reviewed a green Prestige eyeliner called Lightning and I just feel like they have mixed these names around. I personally visually connect with a makeup product with its name so when apocalypses like this happen a little part of my brain just shrivels and dies.
So Trance is a matt blue eye liner that comes in a twistable plastic packaging deal. It has a secure grey lid and the pencil part is supposed (not) the same colour as the shade of the eye liner. I also do not like that the print is rubbing off very easily from the outer plastic packaging. I paid good money for this and now it just looks like a cheap product. (We will come back to the fact that it is actually a crap cheap product!)

My experience with Prestige Cosmetics Trance Waterproof Eyeliner:

My major grief with this product is the regret that I did not swatch this before I bought it. So I have reviewed another colour in the same line of this eye liner and 22 Lightning was a metallic green that served as a brilliant dupe for a MAC eye liner. Because I saw and loved how that eye liner performed I just shut my eyes and bought this too. Alas!! I have no idea why 22 Lightning is a shiny metallic green with shimmer particles and 21 Trance is just a dull matt dirty blue! How does that even make sense? My second issue with this eye liner is that it gives such an uneven application when you use this. It comes out extremely patchy and alternated with light and dark bits. I am so unhappy with its performance! Then there is the weird names that play games with me in my mind. Maybe I am getting too old to remember all this information, but I would strongly like to suggest to Prestige to leave the naming of the products upto IMBBians. We would do a fabulous job.

There are some great ingredients in this eyeliner like the Candililla wax, Carnauba wax and Castor oil but these do not help at all with an even delivery of product. I find this so very strange because this eye liner is actually pretty smooth during application. It does not need you to apply a lot of pressure or press hard on your eye ball to apply. However it does not really glide on your skin. Therefore this is not the ideal candidate for application on the upper lash line just because it ends up looking very uneven. It also sometimes makes your eye pop out, but not in a good way at all. Using this on the lower lash line is not much of a success either because it spreads everywhere and feels quite drying to that area of my eyes. I would not use this on my waterline either, simply because it has been pumped with parabens and do you really want cancer-causing agents in your eye balls?

I do appreciate that this is retractable so firstly I don’t need to carry a sharpener with this and secondly if I twist out too much I can twist the rest back. When companies make twisting products un retractable I get so angry because they are just waiting for us to make a mistake and cause that wastage of product so that we got to repurchase it sooner. However this does not cover up the fact that this is just one helluva bad eyeliner.

Pros of Prestige Cosmetics Trance Waterproof Eyeliner:

  • Waterproof
  • Retractable

Cons of Prestige Cosmetics Trance Waterproof Eyeliner:

  • Color of packaging does not match the shade at all
  • Smudges during application
  • Uneven application
  • Not pigmented well at all
  • Contains Paraben and Silica products- this is a huge no-no for me!

Would I repurchase or recommend Prestige Cosmetics Trance Waterproof Eyeliner?
Unfortunately no to both, because it contains Parabens! Plus it is a complete dud of an eye liner. Save your money and stay away from this one folks!

IMBB Rating:
1/5 (Not only because it contains parabens but also due to its general crappiness as an eye liner.
