Climate has taken such a turn here that both (my lip balm and I) are quite inseparable these days. I have dry lips. Wherever I am in our flat, no matter what I am doing, I keep lip balm beside me. I’ve been using Nivea Hydro Care SPF 15 for quite some time, and I like it especially because it has SPF 15. I saw this Pretty Moisturising Lip Balm at the store, almost for free. This lip balm is insanely cheap, therefore, thought of giving it a try! 😀
Pretty original lip balm helps protect your lips from the harsh and damaging effects of the wind and cold. Lip relief to last throughout the day, leaving your lips feeling naturally soft, smooth and healthy.
Use as frequently as required.
paraffinum liquidum, squalane, ethylexyl palamitate, ceresin, cera Alba, polybutene, cera microcristallina, tocopheryl Acetate, propylparaben
Two lip balms for 75P (Can you believe!)
As you can see in the picture, the Pretty duo lip balms come in a white and blue transparent packaging. The lip balm looks similar to Nivea Hydro Care. The only difference is that this one’s blue cap is much darker blue than Nivea one. This might cause identity crisis for Pretty and might also mislead some buyers. All the information is given at the back of the packaging, except shelf life. I’ve almost stopped looking for it here because I don’t find it here in most of the products. The lip balm comes in a twist-up tube and the cap shuts.
Out of the two lip balms, one lip balm is defective as it is not coming out from twist up tube. I noticed it too late. Therefore, gave up the thought of exchanging it. I would suggest you to open the packet in the store itself in front of them to check if both are working properly.
My Experience with Pretty Moisturising Lip Balm Original:
Temperature here dropped down to minimum 3 degree Celsius yesterday which meant more dry skin for me. I was thinking if I applied a lip balm half an hour ago, what will I be doing now. Pretty lip balm is white in color and it is colorless. The texture is creamy but not too creamy. It has just perfect amount of creaminess, I would say. It is less buttery than my previous Nivea lip balm, but that is turning into pro me.
My previous lip balm was so creamy that I tend to eat up quickly which led to frequent re- application. And it was difficult to apply lipstick over it because of my slippery lips. Pretty lip balm works amazing when you apply lipstick above it. It doesn’t interfere with the texture of the lipstick and at the same time keep your lips hydrated. And you know what? I am not reaching out for lip balm as frequently as before. It has amazing staying power. It is working wonderful on my dry lips and cold weather. Pretty lip balm has no smell. It looks natural on lips. It doesn’t make your lips look shiny or white. Even your man can use this lip balm. 😛 Pretty lip balm has not disappointed me.
Pros of Pretty Moisturising Lip Balm Original:
• Not too creamy
• Fragrance free
• Not tested on animals
• Super cheap
• Keep lips hydrated for long time
• Doesn’t make lips look shiny
• No false promises
Cons of Pretty Moisturising Lip Balm Original:
• It has paraben
I would not consider my defective lip balm as con because it’s a manufacturing defect. It just a coincident that I bought the defective piece. I am sure they would have changed it, had I informed them.
Would I Recommend/Repurchase Pretty Moisturising Lip Balm Original?
Yes! I find it better than my Nivea hydro care lip balm. Therefore, I would recommend and repurchase it second time. Pretty lip balm has no SPF (and they haven’t claimed it), so if you need one with SPF for outdoors, keep a backup of the Nivea one or any other lip balm of your choice with SPF.
