Hi All,
I need your advice and a few suggestions. I am gifting vanity box to my best friend for her wedding, which is due on November 25. I have never equipped vanity box earlier however, I want every needy thing to be in. Please suggest me all do and don’ts and a list that should be placed in the box.

hey ankita, kudos to you for being such a thoughtful friend:) try and arrange a basic vanity for her. she can always add her favorites later on. so here is your list. it will be along one, don’t get scared 😉
1. foundation ( go for a shade which matches her skin tone perfectly)
2. concealor. (again same shade as her skin, but you may skip this if she has flawless skin)
3.compact powder ( to set the foundation, and also for days when she doesnot feel like any heavy make up)
4. kaajal, mascara ( in black. she may buy different colors at her wish later on)
5.liquid eyeliner in black and brown
6. eyeshadows in gold, brown, matte black, muted green, dark blue, plum or copper ( u may include just the first three for a basic start)
7.blushes in peach and pink and a brownish one for contouring. include a highlighter too( try out tips and toes dual blushes which come in a set of highlighter and blush)
8. lipsticks in a basic red, pink, and beige-nude.
9. lipliner in a shade close to her natural lip color
10. clear lipgloss
11. make up brushes ( include blush brush, lip filler brush, and eyeshadow applicator for a start)
12. tissues for blotting and wiping makeup “mistakes”
13. bindis! ( no wedding vanity is complete without this)
these were just for the beginning! 😉 the world of make up is a HUUUUge one… let her discover the rest herself 🙂 if you mention the budget, i can suggest what brands u will get all thse things from 🙂

can you tell more abt your friend.. i mean if shes a makeup lover or not .. or she loves more of skin care stuff.. does she hve some makeup stuff with her .. or your gift would be her first ever makeup kit.. i am asking this . as it wld be best to avoid things she already has..

Hey Ankita the idea is this. Please include products of your budget:
1) Face wash and toner suiting your frnds skin type
2) Face packs again based on skin type
3) Foundation and primer but shade is very important.
4) Concealer based on her need whether under eye alone or blemish concealer
5) A decent brush kit and eye lash curler
6) Kajal or eye khol in basic shades black and brown/ green which would suit her.
7) Eye liner- liquid or gel but a lot of gang imbb swear by gel liner though
8) Mascara – again lot of variants are there,, smudge proof , water proof
9) One or two blushes- in earthy tones and pinks
10) Lipsticks there are a variety of shades to choose, but for a marriage i guess maroons and reds are needed.
11) In case she has oily skin then blotting paper is a must
12) Contour or highlighters based on need.
Budget brands: Kryolan, Maybelline, Colorbar, Inglot
High end brands: MAC, Chanel, YSL, Estee Lauder

Since most of the items have already been suggested by aparajita and Sandhya I would simply like to point out a few things,
A good cleansing milk ( as per her skin type )
Makeup removal cotton rounds or squares
Safety pins in sizes small and large
Nail polish remover
Nail cutter and nail filer
A cosmetic pencil sharpener
A bottle of rose water to keep her skin hydrated. These are things one usually tends to forget whilst focusing on everything important.

I would suggest a good skin care kit from Forrest essential suiting your friends skin type. OR
A complete bath set (preferably same fragrance range) from The Body shop..
along with aparajita & nidhi’s list please include:
1. lakme liquid sindoor
2. Asprin
3. garnier zit fixer …those pen type…
I too am taking notes….will be very useful when I am making mine. I would like to add that saftey pins, bobby pins, U pins etc are very essential and most likely to be forgotten. Likewise nail polish remover and the same nail polish you are wearing in case of last minute chipping. Also spare bindis 🙂
