With so many types of foundation out in the market today, it’s very difficult to figure out which one works with your skin the best.
I have combination skin and it’s difficult to find one foundation that overall helps my skin from looking too oily and too dry and brittle. However, this Purminerals pressed foundation was able to help my skin from becoming way too oily during the day, but it also didn’t soak up all the natural oils in my skin, leaving it dry and dull.
Product Description: This product claims to function as a sunscreen (SPF 15), foundation, powder and concealer all in one. I was pretty enthusiastic that it had four features built into one product because it wouldn’t mean I had to lug around all of my makeup in my purse.
$28 at Ulta (I bought this when I went home for the summer).
My Experience with PÜR Cosmetics 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup:
I was definitely excited that this product works as a sunscreen because with all the heat in India, it doesn’t hurt to add another layer of sunscreen. That being said, you should probably still apply sunscreen as usual because this product would need to be packed on pretty heavily for it to act as a good sunscreen which would in turn make your skin look cakey.
I think this works amazing as a foundation when mixed with a little spritz of rose water or any other toner. I spritz the rose water directly onto the product because I mostly just use it as a foundation. I think the rose water along with this makes the consistency a bit more pliable and easier to apply evenly onto the skin. You can also apply it normally without rose water and it’ll still create an even consistency, but it may make your skin seem a little dry.
As for using this product as a powder, I think it’s honestly one of the best. It’s not too dry and flaky for it to make your skin look dull. It gives off a nice matte finish with a few bits of glitter making your skin have a very subtle and soft glow.
As for the last claim (works as a concealer), I was honestly very disappointed because this does not give a good amount of coverage to dark circles or pimples and you’re better off applying another concealer while using this product mainly as a foundation and powder.
Pros of PÜR Cosmetics 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup:
- This product is very easy to apply.
- Lightweight, which is perfect for acne-prone skin.
- Blends evenly.
- The pigmentation suited my skin (I got it in “Medium Dark”), I’m sure if I got a darker color, it would be amazing for contouring (I might actually do this).
Cons of PÜR Cosmetics 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup:
- The product is a bit on pricey end, but it does last for quite some time. I have been using mine for a couple of months now and there is still a lot of product left.
- Another downside is that it doesn’t stay on for more than 3 to 4 hours and you will have to reapply it.
Overall, I would recommend this product just as a foundation and a pressed powder rather than anything else. I love using this as a foundation because when mixed with a toner or rose water, it creates a smooth finish that gives a soft dewy glow. It’s actually a nice product for sensitive and acne-prone skin. It provides light to medium coverage, which is great for everyday application. I believe this only fulfills 2 out of the 4 features it claims to have. I think I will continue using this until the product runs out.
