My Experience with Purederm Purifying Dead Sea Mud Mask with Mango:

I guess my love for the “king of fruits” (mango) got me into buying this mask 😀  Also, words like “Purifying” , “Dead Sea Mud” seemed promising.

Another reason could be “the demonstration effect”  😀 😀 :D.  In a lay woman’s language, I was tempted by all the reviews coming up daily, raving about these masks from purederm and MJ.

Purederm Dead sea mud mask is basically a clay (kaolin as mentioned in the ingredients list) based, ready to slap on face (use) mask. The consistency is slightly thick, but it spreads easily on the face.  It is light yellow in colour and smells like mango toffee/ice cream. I was expecting it to smell “heavily/heavenly” of mangoes, but sadly it doesn’t.

Since the mask is a thick-in-consistency one, it dries off pretty fast. Like with 10 minutes, it dried up completely.  Post washing this off, I noticed a clean face. It also gave a tightening effect to my face without making it dry or leaving it with a stretchy feel.

Since the mask is clay based, it absorbs up all oil/greasiness on the face. It left my combination skin with almost matte effect.

I also asked my S-I-L to try out the mask, so that I could know how the mask fares on normal skin. According to her, the mask made her skin soft and clean, but not dry like most clay-based packs.

So, I think the mask will work well for most skin types, especially in summers when you want to get rid of all the dirt/sweat/oil/greasiness on the face. It is not a nourishing/hydrating mask, so ladies with dry skin may give it a miss.

Pros of Purederm Purifying Dead Sea Mud Mask with Mango:

  • My face looks clean/clear after using this.
  • Gives a tightening effect to the skin without making it stretchy or dry.
  • Even though it is a one-time use mask, one pack lasts easily for 3-4 applications.
  • The ingredients list looks impressive with all the natural extracts.
  • I find that these are great for carrying on travel.
  • Suits my sensitive skin, no side effects.
  • Neat packaging.
  • Dries quickly, so I don’t need to wait a lot to wash this off.

Cons of Purederm Purifying Dead Sea Mud Mask with Mango:

  • Limited availability in India.
  • Contains parabens.
  • I was expecting it to smell delicious like mangoes, but it does not.
  • Some of you may find it expensive for a single-time use pack.

IMBB Rating:

3 on 5

Overall Verdict:

Well, I would consider this an average face mask, nothing that left me super impressed. However, it didn’t give me a bad/side effect, so I can’t hate it either.  I doubt I will be using these masks for my routine as I am more than happy with my lush masks, but considering these are so travel friendly, I would repurchase and keep them in stock.

Care for some mangoes, anyone 😀 😀 😀
