Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Face and Body Creme Review

My skin went for a toss in US. Generally, my skin is very oily, and can be termed as combination one on its best days. I have used oil control products for what seems like forever, but my skin became very dry and sensitive during my stay there. While I was saved from bouts of acne, I was prone to dry patches, flaking skin and dullness. I got a lot of lotions and creams at that period. Today’s review is about a cult product from the Queen Helene brand. It’s their Cocoa Butter Crème. Keep reading to know whether is really banishes dryness.

My Experience with Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Face and Body Creme:

It comes in a small pale beige plastic tub with a brown screw on lid. There is also an added seal for protection. All product details are mentioned on the body of the product. The tub is not the most hygienic way to use the product and people with long nails will face difficulty, but given the consistency, a bottle or tube wouldn’t be rational, since it is quite thick. Use clean fingers, or a spatula to prevent contamination in the tub.

The texture is thick and creamy. It feels slightly greasy, but if you like luxuriously rich thick creams which add oodles of moisture, this is perfect. This is an intensively nourishing cream which feels like a treat to dry parched skin. In one use, you can see the difference in your skin.

So while a tried a lot of creams, I hadn’t opened this one (maybe because I had too many products) and tossed it casually in my handbag. During my long haul flight to London, I found that my skin became very dry and itchy. I could see white flaking patches on my hands and the stretchy feeling became very unbearable. Thank God, I had this (I had forgotten about it before). I applied the cream and it left a thin film of oil on my skin. It takes time to fully absorb, and you can feel it on top of your skin before it slowly seeps in. However, in 5 minutes, my skin itching stopped and the flakiness simply disappeared. It stayed that way for the next 10 hours or so, and I even reached India with another flight without reapplication.

I guess it explains how amazing this cocoa butter enriched cream is. It heals and soothes, and gives a nourished supple look. I gave it to my mom who has perpetually dry skin and she loves it. You don’t need to slather a lot of product to get that comfortable feeling. It has presence of mineral oils, so you might want to keep that in mind before getting this.
