Skin type: Combination and acne-prone
During this time of the year my skin usually turns a bit oily and breaks out giving me a lot of pimples. And what could be better than clay and mud masks to pamper my skin with? Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask has been extremely famous all around in the skin-care word, so I thought of trying a mud mask from them. Scroll down to see how it fared!
Price: $6.99/Rs 470 for 227 g
Product Description by Queen Helene: This classic facial masque is enriched with Kaolin, a natural English Clay known to immediately lift away impurities and revitalize tired looking skin. After use, skin feels firmer while fine lines and wrinkles appear diminished.
My Experience with Queen Helene Mud Pack Masque:
Packaging: The packaging of the mask is very attractive, cute and colourful. It comes in a combo of deep sky blue along with fresh yellow and some clay image over it which looks refreshing. It has all the details nicely mentioned over it. The tube is pretty huge and the quantity provided is huge too. This mask will go a long way since only a little quantity is required each time. It has a screw-on cap with a small nozzle which lets out the mask. The tube is handy because although it is huge, it is not that heavy. The price might seem high initially to some but since it goes a long way, it is worth it.
Consistency, smell and feel on the skin: The mask comes in a peachy brown colour and looks like a nice clay mud mask. The consistency of the mask is super thick hence I need to spare some time to apply this or at times, I mix it with rose water to thin it up a bit. It goes gentle on the skin and an even layer gets applied. The smell is pleasing to the senses. The smell stays till I remove the mask. Initially when applied, it gives me a strong tingling sensation which is common among all the mud masks but it settles down in 5 minutes especially for oily skin. And then it stays as it and does not irritate my skin.
Results: The mask dries up in 15 minutes or so and I can feel it drying up on the skin. It is easy to remove with water but using a sponge to remove it takes half the time. My skin feels a lot softer and silkier. The smoothness is something that I noticed in the very first go. It made my skin very firm and tight and it looked toned. It tightens up the skin which means it is not suitable for dry skin at all. I get a little stretchy feeling initially but that goes away. It did take out all the impurities and my skin looked fresh and clean. The oil did not come back for the next 4-5 hours which is good. It works like any other clay mask but it is a must have in my opinion. It does not have any long-term effect, but my skin looks a lot healthier, brighter and fresher immediately.
