Quick And Easy Summer Hairstyles For Curly/Wavy Hair

Hope you all are doing well. Its summer time again and with the heat increasing day by day the need to style the hair in a way so as to keep up the style quotient without sacrificing on the comfort factor, becomes vital. Having said that, we all know the ‘typical challenges’ that curly/wavy haired beauties face in this humid climate coupled with the ever so annoying frizziness and dryness. Then again, I feel there is a positive side to this agony as well. You can achieve the simplest of hairstyles with your curly/wavy hair while look really pretty. Thus without wasting much time I’ll move on to discussing a few hairdos which are super cute and comfortable for summers…

1. Defined Curls With A Broad Headband (Or Bandana):

I’ll start with the easiest of the lot 🙂 . Define the curls with some mousse or curl defining hair spray and put it all back using a broad headband or a bandana to get the boho-chic look. This hairstyle is super easy and great for a girl’s day out as it keeps the hair off the face so that you can think about the other brighter and more important things in life.

2. The Good Old Braid:

So it’s a Monday morning and you kept on snoozing your alarm for a good half an hour? Finally you wake up and face the scary, messy unwashed hair and you barely have 20 odd minutes to get ready and make a move. In such a situation our beloved braids comes to the rescue. All you need to do is sweep all your hair to your favourite side of the head and start braiding it. You could take out a few locks from the front portion of the head to frame your face to get a softer look. This hairstyle hardly takes a couple of minutes and the best part is, you don’t need any styling products to get the look. So yayy for that.

3. The Messy Top Knot:

Continuing with the Monday morning agony or any day for that matter, the next hairstyle that comes to our rescue is the messy top knot. All you need to do is to gather up all your hair into a ponytail. Next, twist the hair a couple of times (depending on the length of your hair) and pin it up using a few bobby pins. You may skip combing your hair as well because the focus here is to achieve the messy look. The beauty of this hairdo is that it looks different each time you do it. Also the fact that you don’t need any styling products makes it a go to hairstyle when in a rush!

4. The Doughnut Bun:

Next comes my favourite, the doughnut bun. For this you would want to tie your hair up in a high ponytail first. Then take the ends of your hair and start wrapping it around the hair doughnut (you can easily get these online or make one for yourself by cutting the toe area of a clean pair of socks and rolling it down). As you wrap your hair around the bun, start rolling the bun towards your hair and covering the bun with your hair as you proceed. This may sound and feel a bit complicated initially but with practice you would soon get the hang of it. You can accessorize this look with a cute flowery headband. This hairdo looks super adorable and is a life saver for people who suffer from limp and lifeless hair in summers.

5. The Braided Headband:

Make a deep side parting in your favourite side of the hair. Separate the front portion of your hair around the crown and make 3 equal sections. Start braiding the hair horizontally from one side of the head to the other the way you make your regular Dutch braid (or sagar choti). Once you are done braiding the hair secure it with a few bobby pins. Leave the rest of your hair open or tie it in a ponytail. This hairstyle gives a soft romantic look and is perfect for movie dates or a day out with friends.

6. The Classy Side Swept Look:

Start by defining your curls with a styling spray or a mousse of your choice. Sweep all your hair to one side and pin it up with a few bobby pins. This is one of the easiest ways to get a classy evening hairdo within minutes. You can glam up the look further by adding a nice hair accessory.

So these were a few of my favourite quick go to hairstyles for curly/wavy hair. All of these can be achieved in 5 – 7 minutes. Do try them out the next time you step out.
