This review is about an essential product that I use on a daily basis for my makeup application. I feel my makeup application process is incomplete and I get inadequate finish without it. It is a makeup application sponge by the brand Real Techniques. I have used several different kinds of makeup sponges by the same brand. Although I have dabbled with the ones by other brands as well I come back to these because I love their performance the most.

My Experience with Real Techniques 4 Mini Miracle Complexion Sponges:
I have used the Miracle Complexion Sponge for my every day makeup application. I’ve even tried the wedge-shaped sponge. Since the longevity of these sponges is barely a couple of months at best, I decided to buy these 4 wedges instead.
I planned to go for these because the material of the two sponges I tried was same even though the shapes were different. Also, their small size appeared appealing for reaching the crevices of the face and applying cream products on the lids, powder under the eyes; they even seemed apt for detailed contouring.
These 4 mini sponges come in a sturdy, plastic packaging which is good for storing the sponges while they wait their turn. They come in four pretty colors, have a round, dome shape at one edge and are flat on the other. Every inch of sponge surface area can be put to good use because of its unique shape.
The tip can be used for dedicated application of products like the sides of the nose or hollows of the cheeks or inner corners of the eyes or under eye area. The flat side can be used to apply loose powder under the eyes and around the nose and to highlight the jawline to accentuate the contour.
The round side can be used for blending and buffing the products. I personally use the flat side to apply and blend cream-based products and then use the same side again to pick up loose powder and ‘bake’ my face. The product is reasonably priced but it still hurts when the sponge starts to crack after a month. Although, the websites advises to replace it after every 3-4 months, I find they last barely 2 months and after that they seem to not perform as well.
I wash my sponges every day before I use them to apply my makeup. I used a gentle dish washing soap and it leaves my sponges squeaky clean. These mini sponges are marketed as something we can add to our travelling kit and use them for touch-ups on-the-go but I use them for my daily makeup application.
