I was leisurely walking around the makeup aisles of Walmart, and I spotted the “New” sticker on one of the aisles. With a close look at the product, I realized it was a new makeup brush cleansing gel from our much-loved brand, “Real Techniques.” I thought it makes complete sense that Real Techniques, known for its fabulous brushes, comes out with a cleanser for their brushes! I had to grab a bottle and put it in my cart. Are you excited? Well, I am! Let’s get started 🙂

My Experience with Real Techniques Deep Cleansing Gel:

As much as I love applying makeup, I only wish I loved cleaning them just as much! I am always on a hunt for some good brush cleaners that would make my life simple. So, when I saw this Real Techniques Deep Cleansing Gel for makeup brushes, I thought maybe this baby will help me out. I must say that this cleanser is like a clarifying shampoo for the makeup brushes. When I think of makeup brush cleansers, the benchmark for cleansers, it’s the Cinema Secret cleanser comes to my mind, which is liquid-y like water. I personally prefer liquid brush cleansers like NYX Brush Cleaner or the Cinema Secrets Brush Cleaner.

The cleansing gel has a light scent which isn’t overpowering and doesn’t last on the bristles after being washed. You only need a tiny amount of the gel, mix it with water and swirl around on the palm of your hand or a cleansing glove a couple of times, and you are done! It cleans the brushes thoroughly and conditions the bristles so well.

I did try cleansing my Beauty Blender with this one, but I think the solution does not sink in well, and I prefer using my oil cleansing method for the Beauty Blender. Overall, I think the gel did a fabulous job at removing any dirt, makeup and bacteria from the brushes.

I wouldn’t be using this cleansing gel every time I need to clean brushes as this gel actually deep cleans the brushes and is more like a “spa experience” for the brushes. I will alternate the usage of this gel with my Cinema Secrets cleanser for cleaning the brushes. I would definitely recommend this cleansing gel to everyone who use makeup brushes and likes taking care of their brushes by giving them a deep cleaning.
