My Take on Real Techniques Foundation Brush:

First of all, let me begin by saying that I am really in love with these Real Techniques brushes that I own.  They have become my absolute favourites these days. Who doesn’t love these stylish, denser, cruelty-free beauties.  The bristles of Real Techniques brushes are baby soft and they hold the pigment really well.  So, I had high expectations before getting this particular foundation brush; however, this one somewhat disappointed me.  The length of bristles is long for this foundation brush compared to other brushes that I have.

Also, I felt this brush to be less denser than my other brushes.  I had a difficult time in applying foundation using this brush.  I use very little foundation, maybe only on areas where I need that extra coverage, but my friend who uses this brush loves this.  When I asked the reason, she actually taught me how to use this brush for applying foundation to certain areas that a regular brush can’t reach.  For example, on the bridge and sides of the nose, chin and the contouring side.  This brush is amazing to reach in all those areas.  If you want your foundation brush to be used as a contouring brush, then this one is for you.

There are several Youtube tutorials and videos on the Real techniques website on how to use this brush.  If you understand on how to use this one, you will start loving it!

This brush reaches onto the hardest areas with ease and provides a picture perfect finish.  The next best part about this brush is that its an angled brush.  I am a concealer person and I don’t use too much foundation.  So, I find this brush to be useless for me.  For the sides and nose, I use my Sigma brushes from my Sigma Synthetic Kit.

I personally prefer my Sigma Kabuki F80 as well as F82 for foundation application.

This brush comes without a case, but at the same time, it has a flat base design which makes it easy to keep it on its own. Its difficult to store this brush in brush holders which is the only disadvantage I noted.

Pros of Real Techniques Foundation Brush:

  • Soft.
  • Cruelty free.
  • Dries quickly after wash.
  • Angled brush reaches onto hardest areas with ease.
  • Doesn’t shed.

Cons of Real Techniques Foundation Brush:

  • Thick handle makes it difficult to fit in a brush roll.
  • Availability in India might be an issue.

Hope you like my review, see you all soon!!!!

  2. The expert face brush in real techniques collection is really great for foundation. I don’t wear much, but it buffed in well and gave good coverage.
